  5. A friend of mine runs his boat on used oil, works a treat, tried some in our 4L2, stinks though! It not just old oil, youn have to add chemicls to it and a lot of filtering. Andrew

  12. Don't know? but why all the fencing, locked gate to get to the lock landing. No good when you're walking from lock to lock and your BWB key is on the boat. Andrew
  13. Just been on the Droitwich for the first time. Must say very impressed. Very shallow in places and a bit reedy. I bet the woman at lock 4 was pain while work was on going, she certaily is now. Andrew

  15. Went through Brum yesterday, very quiet? Just a few youths hanging about at the top of Aston - no bother. The mail box was like a Sunday morning. Andrew
  16. That explains all the welding going on in the backend on one of them a few years ago at the top of Atherstone. Andrew
  17. They belong to Rotherns coal yard. One is a new build. They been there for quite a while, if you look over the bank opposite there is one of the tugs in a farm yard. (think it's still there). Andrew
  18. We have stayed a couple of times, as part of the BCN Challenge and on our own. Had a walk round the town and found plenty of shops, friendly people and a couple of pubs including a Weatherspoons. The Red Lion I found a little too friendly? Saturday night near the Wharf pub soon went quiet with no trouble at all throught the night. I would stop over again, the only problem we have is getting there, that dam mattress on the Tame valley and Walsall canal depth/weed. Andrew

  22. Not much water oop north, Harecastle down about 6" found the bottom of the tunnel today, Got stuck at the northern end too. Andrew
  23. There is only room for one boat on the lock landing, all the rest are private. Andrew
  24. yes, we have a 100w panel, It does all the above and runs the fridge. That's when it's day light of course. Andrew
