  1. along with all our fields covered in rapsead and this wont even meet demand so there will be another huge increase in the rainforests being cut down. Think i'll stick to my bike thanks.
  2. Ah thank you for that! Ive been trying to find out about the marina but couldnt find the website anywhere!
  3. Thanks, I'll check them out.

  5. Thank you. I have had a look on the BW site. There is one residential mooring on there whole listings very far from what i want. I know a NB i was looking at buying in Bristol was on a leisure mooring but the guy on the boat and others around him all lived there full time. Also does anyone know if there is a set agreement to how you use a leisure mooring like with holiday cottages (you can only live there 10 months out the year etc.) Sorry for the million and on questions but it seems to be very hard to find straight forward answers anywhere. Sorry for hijacking the thread too!
  6. I grew up on a farm (not the same thing i know) but although i moaned about things then i totally appreciate my up bringing now. I'm 27 now and most of my friends dont know the names of basic birds (or care), how to build a fire, what you can eat from the hedge row or even how to cook basic meals. I can also still scale a tree with ease. Thats just a few things i got from my outdoorsy up bringing. Even if it would be hard i think it would be better for all concerned and i bet they thank you for it in the end.
  7. ok thats kind of what i thought. Residential moorings seem to be so few and far between i think this might be the only way of living on a boat for me. Are you more likley to get a residential mooring if you already are on the water at a leisure mooring or does this not matter. I have spent the day trying to get my head around moorings and i think my head is ready to explode!
  8. So you can live on a leisure mooring? I too have been very confused by this. I dont mind not having services or and address but i will be working full time so moving at a moments notice might be hard. Would a leisure mooring be right for me?
  9. Hello! Not really new more returning. I tried to buy a boat to live on in Bristol but for one reason or another it failed, it broke my heart so i had to leave it for a bit. Now im looking again on the Gloucester & Sharpness. I think i have totally confused myself now though! There seems to be so many options out there and BW dont seem to make things easy. I have been trawling websites trying to find information about different moorings but it seems to be easyer to get blood out of a stone! Any advice gladly taken.
