  1. you have lost me, i thought it was for all metal.
  2. i dont want to take the boat out every 2 years if i dont have to. so why do others say you must paint it every 2 or 3 years.
  3. Hi All. I put a steel saw in the canal by the side of my boat it was a little rusty so I gave it a coat or rust converter and a coat of smooth right . after six months pulled it out. It looked ok, no rust but slightly milky in colour. What do you think about using smooth right on the boat instead of the normal bitchaman. Colin I
  4. I’m not really worried about the tap water, the problem is when I’m cruising I sometimes I want just a little heat to take the chill off or to dry some cloths. Collin

  7. I can see that both ways would work, either putting the valve in the cold water supply or hot water outlet. but i think i will need to fit two one way valves in either case.

  9. Thanks to all, what would I do without this forum. the three way valve solves all the problems and should satisfy the bss. it will take a day to alter the pipe work because I have to dismantle some of the kitchen , but after that its free hot water. so thanks again.Colin.
  10. the problem is I mainly stay at the marina and have no mains electric so the only way to have hot water is through the wall heater. but when cruising the engine will hot up the water which will save gas, so is there away I can incorporate both and still pass the bss. colin.
  11. Hi all, is there any reason I can’t connect my calorifier in line with my rinnia water heater so if I am using the water in the calorifier I can turn off the rinnia heater. I can’t find any information on bss web site, Colin

  15. Hi all, Ihave a isuzu 42 engine, what is the safe amount of refs i can use for a long trip up the thames. on the canalsi run at 1200 but this is to slow on the thames. Thanks Colin.
  16. i think your wright i will drill the 8mm hole. let you know what happens on saturday many thanks Colin
  17. I have been told to drill a 4mm hole by lb and vetus say to drill a 8mm hole. I will take top pipe off and drive forward and see if the pipe blows or sucks, all so do the same in reverse.
  18. I hope the water as made its way in there must be quite a bit of pressure on the gland and if the air compressed a bit then water should of entered the gland. I have driven the boat for 300 hours with not any problems so fingers crossed.
  19. liverpool boats are now collingwood boats and there should be a hole of 4mm at the top for air ventilation.
  20. just spoken to a vetus engineer and he said there should be a small hole in the weed hatch to let it breath water is fed into the joint due to the pressure of water finding its own level. there must be some water in my joint other wise it would of seized up . I will now drill a small hole the same size as the pipe fitting.
  21. I have just phoned Liverpool boats but they are not accepting phone calls. I have had no luck trying to speak to a technical person from vetus. dose anyone know the phone number of vetus in England.
  22. what a lot to think about, I will phone Liverpool boats today, although they not good at given answers to questions once they have sold the boat.
