  2. I thought that CRT had had a change of heart regarding decommissioning moorings. There is a reciprocal mooring agreement between awcc clubs but not for anyone and their dog.
  3. People have mentioned the price of materials. There was a time when Birch Ply came by the boat load from Russia. For some reason that isn't happening any more.
  4. At least at this point in time the door is still open. I'm more hopeful than I was in January
  5. I guess we will see the reintroduction of stop locks to ensure CRT don't lose their water. It's already happened on the Ashby
  6. Sensible suggestion from David but seems like no one really knows. I was wondering if the lower height ones allow for the use of a plinth which could house the plumbing. I shall have to talk to Leesan. I'm not worried about dealing with blockages. It's only processed food.
  7. We moored there for five years at the wedding venue end of the marina. It was never an issue for us. I'm sure you will get on fine with the management team. They were always very helpful and went above and beyond at times.
  8. Wellington pub company. Not tied to any brewer. Lots of tenancies available
  9. I'm exploring the idea of a macerator toilet. Looking at the Leesan site they sell standard height toilets and lower height ones. Is it simply a case of the lower height ones being meant to be positioned on a plinth/step or am I missing something?
  10. Matty recommends one by Epiphanies. I haven't tried it yet though. Andy Russell's supplier passed away during covid
  11. When we were stuck there in 2019 I had plenty of time to look around. The culvert drains a marshy field on the offside. The flow is minimal. It needs a bit of pipe ans a load of puddling clay. One month max if I was doing it. I just need to source a bit of gas main to take the water under the canal
  12. I think it was a case of it was reported and they got to it early enough. Certainly, the water level hadn't dropped significantly. We got to bridge 53 just as the last stop plank went in. There wasn't any heavy machinery involved. Materials came along the towpath in wheel barrows from Bosley top lock. It looks a bigger job this time but I'm sure they could have it reopen fairly quickly if the will was there.
  13. Here's the same breach. I took this photo in September 2019. We were stuck behind the stop planks for three days. The stream that runs through the culvert is tiny. A piece of 450mm poly pipe would easily do the job.
  14. Well worth going though

  17. But if you go to Germany you have a right to strip off the extra packaging at the supermarket till and leave it to be recycled by the supermarket

  19. There was a proposal to put a lock in at salmon leap to get boats above the weir. I think since chester canal heritage trust disbanded it has lost momentum.
  20. Have a look at two pack. It doesn't fade like enamel does. Much easier to maintain if you want a shiny boat. Also, if the painter takes the windows out and depending on how they are fixed you could end up with leaks that will turn the woodwork black. Talking from experience.😟
  21. The bridge is Carlsberg. THe other two are independent.
  22. The same is true of Apolloduck. Listings aren't taken down very quickly. The number of narrowboats on there is comparable with what it was pre-Covid.
  23. Or maybe consequential results. I'm sure they weren't after towpath talk
  24. It's possible. Our council offers such a service. Having said that their were quite a few ferrel tennants around the corner from my in-laws who thought nothing of piling up whatever they no longer needed in their front gardens. It inevitably overflowed in to the street.
  25. There are plenty of youtube videos showing how to clean a jet. Some are better than others............
