  1. Hi Roger, I would be interested to know where you got your materials from please? Mac Man
  2. I normally wear a Breton Cap but this summer while on an Outlet Village shopping spree with her indoors she spotted a drovers hat, got me to try it on and ended up buying it for me. Perhaps I am one of the lucky ones who look good in one??? Mac Man
  3. Hi, My insurance company in its proposal for my narrowboat insurance offered breakdown assistance insurance for £36.75 (inclusive of insurance tax). The service is called 'Call Assist' and is underwritten by DAS Legal Expenses Insurance Company. The general basics of cover are:- Breakdown assistance with repair costs covered up to £250. Practical help 24 hours a day. Travel costs covered up to £150 (If you have to abandon the boat away from your mooring) Items not covered:- Breakdown at your home mooring. Breakdown caused by lack of oil, fuel or water. Cost of part & materials. Has anyone any experience of this service? Comments most welcome. Thanks Mac Man

  5. My other half suffers badly with the little bu**ers biting her any time of the year. We were advise to use Avon Skin So Soft - it works a treat. We were told by an Avon lady that her customers were sending it to troops in Afghanistan, they confirm its the best. Keith

  9. They are definitely CE marked, looking at mine now. There are two terminals on the back of the unit where the 240V power pack is wired in to the alarm, easy job to wire into the boats 12 volt DC system. Mac Man
  10. I agree with your instruction regarding moving from east to south I did exactly this this afternoon when trying mine out in the garden. Doing it from south to east I kept tuning into Astra at 19 degrees by mistake. The whole system works fine and cracking good value for the money. Mac Man
  11. Yes I also got one at 8.15 this morning, there were only 9 in the Cirencester store! Wow what a box of tricks. Now in the process of trying it out in the conservatory this afternoon. I like these type of toys Mac Man
  12. Good luck with the new boat, enjoy. I agree with Starman, enjoy the Old West. Our boat is at Hermitage and we have cruised that stretch several times. Mac Man
  13. Hi Roger, Stumbled across this site http://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/campercare#item300312995194. They have a good range of LED lamps and fittings. Worth a look. Mac Man
  14. Hi, I took my sample of pain to the nearest Crown Trade Centre yesterday. The matched the colour pretty well, although they did say blue gloss was a bu**er to scan. However they found a dull bit on the sample I took and it worked. After mixing it we applied a tester to the sample I had taken with me and it looks pretty good. I questioned the make up of the paint and was assured it was an oil based paint suitable for exterior use. The cost for 1L was £10.22. They have retained the mix on their computer system so that if I require more I only have to return and ask for N/b Blue, which is what they saved it as. Well pleased so far Mac Man
  15. Hi Roger, In one instance I purchased a digital voltmeter which failed in a couple of hours. I contacted the supplier about returning the faulty one. In 24 hours I had an email saying a replacement had been dispatched and not to bother returning the faulty one. Hows that for service, it arrived within the week. There are some bl**dy good traders out there on ebay. Mac Man
