  1. I'm standing looking at the HNC in Marsden and there's plenty of water here. As well as what's coming from the sky.
  2. Is the Anson museum open again ? Last thing I heard Geoff Challoner, their main man, had had a hesrt attack. Edit their website seems to suggest they are open.
  3. I had a Ford in the 70s and 80s in a cheerful yellow. It never looked dirty. When washed and clean though it was blindingly bright.
  4. Going up the Trent is not a trivial exercise. Its tidal until Cromwell - near Newark.
  5. That R####a (at 10:00) is a lovely looking boat, and clearly very powerful.
  6. Someone elses film of the Tug of War.
  7. Fair enough Alan, but hopefully the Morris dancing at the start was more to your taste. 😉
  8. Couldn't stay for the whole day, but we enjoyed a morning looking at the boats and listening to the music.
  9. Is that Dave Pegg's (Fairport Convention) old house ?
  10. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1N7QKs4ayD_O30mRYDVybEQvU6htditny/view?usp=drivesdk Here's our Robbie launching the new Marsden E shuttle 'tween station and tunnel.
  11. I can confirm that the Impossible Dream about the HNC is narrated by Tim West.
  12. Would it be the Impossible Dream - the Huddersfield Narrow restoration completed in 2001? Photos show Tom Rolt et al taking the Ailsa Craig along the canal ad through the Standedge tunnel in the late 40s IIRC. Later photos and film show the restoration in progress through to completion. I had a copy of the VHS video until recently but have some screen grabs from it.
  13. I kicked Mac in once from the trad rear deck by accident. He swam to the towpath, got out, shook himself and trotted up to the next bridge hole as if it was a daily occurrence. Good old Mac. A big Border terrier totally at ease under a pub table and completely ignored other dogs. My point is he was taught to obey voice and hand commands.
  14. Nice film. Annoyingly its not downloadable. Chris Collins not been around for some years as per other thread. I know they've said Rickmansworth - I wonder if its at Troy wharf - where Progress is ? Not Troy wharf I've decided, but perhaps at the start of the Troy cut.
  15. At the start, when he had the fouled prop, I couldn't quite understand how he was being pushed backwards up a lock, against the flow of water ?? Ref weed hatch, ours has only an inch of freeboard, and if a boat comes past, you can get water slopping over. Anyway, he's a nice lad and I'm glad he's finding some happiness in his life.
  16. On the roads we keep left (no Napoleon influence here), so why do we keep right on the water ?
  17. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  18. I see Bia hasn't been back for a while. Perhaps she is having a rethink.
  19. Mandolin Monday - excellent. Fairly acoustic. IIRC they've played at Braunston before - and at Ricky Festival Lock Jam.
  20. There's the crane at Braunston. Perhaps somone local could find out its capacity. Graham perhaps ?
  21. Mmm Doesn't work for me. Do I have to join or sign in ?
