  1. That's what I thought. Perhaps it's for submarines aswell.
  2. I had a walk up there last night and took a couple of pics, no sign to be found. As soon as I remember how to upload the pics I will do it!!!!
  3. There is no work going on at either of the flashes. All the digging is being done on the towpath side near the pipe bridge just along from Orchard marina.
  4. Carl, I didn't know that the water around there was any different than locally. I live about 1/2 a mile away from this site and have seen it on passing and standing on top of the boat, I can see it has been dug very deep, maybe 10 feet or so it seems looking from the canal. I have searched the net for info but can't find anything definite on completion dates or anything else, I will have to have a walk up there and check out the sign which must have only just been erected.
  5. Found this on the "I.W.A" website, it was dated June 2006 but I believe it still to be the case. Trent & Mersey Canal At its meeting on 16th May, the planning committee at Vale Royal Borough Council, with one abstention, voted unanimously to reject the application from Ripple Developments to construct a marina in Billinge Green Flash. IWA’s Chester & District Branch had lobbied strongly against the application. A decision on the Park Farm marina, which is proposed for the towing path side of the canal in the same area was deferred. The developer, Travelreign, has amended its plans, halving the size of the marina, and a consultation period on this development was extended to 24th May. Les.

  9. Trent & Mersey at Broken Cross frozen over with a thin sheet of ice this morning. Don't know what the temp is apart from "Brass Monkeys". Les
  10. There's nothing worse than splatter around your porthole. Les

  12. Saw this one a while back, not quite in the cratch though. Les
  13. Hi James, I had a leak from the gunwhale area over the bed, it only leaked visibly when it rained heavy. I too sealed all around the window frame above the bed,but everytime I tested it with a hosepipe , it still leaked. I ended up removing the panelling from below the window inside and spraying water on small individual areas of the window frame outside. Eventually I narrowed it down one of the screwholes in the frame, even with the screw in place it leaked. So I removed all the screws and pumped a bit of sealant into each screwhole before refitting the screws. Might be worth checking, good luck. Les.
