  1. Any update on the Easenhill progress as I see nothing on the CART site?
  2. Last time we came down the flight all they did for us was to turn the set lock around in front of us and slow us down.
  3. https://www.primelocation.com/for-sale/commercial/details/56834482
  4. But what is the engine, the title looks right but then the body of the text confuses? It has got both a warrenty and warranty what ever they are.
  5. I managed to get one of those for Gardner Oil engines circa 1954 and it is very useful to me.
  6. Mine also has solid oak bearers and runs smoothly. It is worth checking that all of the bolts are still tight of course. Initally one of my injectors was not 100% but after getting all three reconditioned smoothness returned.
  7. Claydon now working but just got told Grants lock is currently closed waiting for a structural engineer to assess the safety of the lock cottage.
  8. Cart back in attendance and the queue grows as the sun beats down.
  9. Managed to dislodge some rubble behind the gate. Cart has vanished but first boat has got through.
  10. Top lock closed and flight following with Cart in attendance running down water. Now top lock bottom gate not opening and queues formed in the sun. possibly Cart still on site and trying to get them to take a look. Reports that similar issue last night.
  11. Went through on Thursday and all looked back to normal.
  12. Thanks will be going through tomorrow so will take a good look then.
  13. Is this still an issue or has it been suitably bodged into more life?
  14. You also might find that this is being prompted by the alternator kicking in varying the load on the engine starting that off. Not unusual if you have just taken over the boat and hence it has been little used but see you are going to squirt some oil in via the BA screw as well so think you have it all covered.
  15. Yes sounds good to me and there are a few jobs that need to be done in my case.
  16. If you get far enough way through you can chose multiple types of boats including one which revs up to 1200 only with some smoke and noise.
  17. RIP indeed Bruce and Sheila bought a share in the same boat as I had and I have casually followed ever since.
  18. No problem at all it is great to meet with other people that enjoy the practical side of looking after great engines.
  19. What I was talking about is the cold start fuel override. Yes I agree about keeping the linkages oiled but that is just expected tlc for your Gardner.
  20. Simple answer is yes in the carbon bushes have evolved over time and now you can buy a modern ceramic bearing which is totally different.
  21. I believe I am right saying the manual recommends the 30cc every thousand hours, so a couple of squirts every couple of hundrede should be ample. Perhaps if you cannot say when last time would be good to start with more?
  22. What I do, not in the manual of course, is every couple of hundred hours put in a couple of squirts from my oil can. Highly scientific as you can see.
  23. I would leave that one alone that is for the later new fangled governer adaptions that my engine does not have. Not for filling with any more oil.
  24. Yes that is right. I did not know the 4LW was a single block of 4 thought it was split like the cylinders into 2s and 3s. I would agree 30cc does seem a lot but just checking my manual that is what it states though.
  25. On the top half of the fuel injection pump for the 4LW you will see a pair of fuel cotrol blocks each having 2 connections at the top to the injectors. These are connected by a rod in the middle so these two units work together. There should be a Lucas plaque showing the pump details on this and at the same level you should see a 2BA set screw on each of these two blocks. That is were the oil goes. Sorry no photo at the moment.
