  1. A bit of small woolwich butty Vela. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F174296114088
  2. Nice to see her coming along. Did she require much hull work to get her watertight? As a fellow wooden boat owner, I look forward to seeing your progress. We have used this lockdown to push forward with our work to the Keays tug Judith Ann, which is getting there slowly, but still alot to do.
  3. Cool. Good luck with her, wooden boats are lovely to have but need maintenance keeping on top of!
  4. Do you have somewhere able to dock her for any works required?
  5. Yes, absolutely, they moored with us while they put a new cabin on Lyra.
  6. They run on the modern motor Harrier and small Northwich butty Lyra. They do really good work, I am another satisfied customer, they cut a load of 12th scale model parts for my project boat I am working on. Their website can be found here... https://www.reveriecanaltradingco.co.uk/ They also have a facebook page, Instagram feed and you tube channel for those inclined. I have no hesitation in recommending them for any fabrication works required. Kind regards Dan
  7. A p4. Been about for a while now I reckon. Now the F, J or K series are pretty nice however....
  8. My former bcn day boat is bss exempt, and has no testable systems, and has a cabin.
  9. You can also have a cabin but have no testable systems, electric, gas, fuel, solid fuel. Kind regards Dan
  10. Due to self isolation I've cracked on with the model....... Daniel and Keri from Reverie canal trading co on Lyra chopped out some 12th scale bits for me which we've stuck together. A couple are slightly off and the position needs double checking... but hopefully you get the idea.
  11. We have someone who will be cutting a 12th scale baseplate and knees which we can then "plate".... watch this space!
  12. I can't believe how long this has taken for me to get some time to do some more work on her...... Work gets in the way and all that.... So, whilst I have been stuck in Australia for work (Cancelled!) I thought I would utilise the time productively..... We went back to the drawing and managed to offset all the ironwork to account for the planking, and then we worked backwards to try and recreate the shape as she would have been, allowing for the odd bit of Adze work etc...... We have also decided to pull her in a little bit from her original 7' 1/2" beam, which then took a tweak here and there. We are now at a point of being able to build a 12th scale model of the hull to see how it looks before cutting! Regards Dan
  13. It is part of our yard plans for "social distancing"......?
  14. Of course. But it has to be the right kind of screwdriver!!
  15. Every couple of years for caulking and tarring ideally.
  16. That's the one. From what I remember she's in pretty good nick, it's just a shame about the god awful bandstand on the deck.
  17. Here the link to Progress. I believe the bandstand is free but you have to pay extra for the musicians to play on her........ https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F143550279124
  18. Hood now has a Kelvin K3, I'm sure Nick can inform where the Merganser went.
  19. It wasnt that fast we were towing!! We came up from Gloucester to tewkesbury during the back end if a bad storm and at times we were barely making 1/2 mph..... And that's with 75hp!!
  20. Once the levels drop your timetable is fine. We picked our pair of boats up from Saul Junction in October 2014, and our days were as follows...... Evening to Gloucester. Day 1 Gloucester to Comberton Quay above Strensham Lock. Day 2 Comberton Quay to Stratford. Day 3 Stratford to Tom 'o the Wood Day 4 Tom 'o the Wood to Wolfhampcote Day 5 Wolfhampcote to Cosgrove Day 6 Cosgrove to MK. We did about 12 hour days and with a pair the southern stratford was double locking. We were on a schedule but it wasnt too bad. Good luck with your trip. Kind regards Dan
