  1. I've seen the water at Billing go up by 6ft overnight when they open the Washland sluices. I'd be very wary of mooring on line on the Nene without a good floating mooring. it took us 20 years to find our piece of land and private water, and that wasn't openly advertised. Good luck with your search!
  2. i'd say it was Hazlehurst too, with the photographer standing on the bridge over the railway.
  3. A lovely photo showing a pair of Anderton boats, the question is which motor is it? I have my theories, given the sunken counter and various other bits, and there weren't that many motors in the grand scheme of things!
  4. oh Frosty..... we had such high hopes.... still, I can't imagine it'll be too long now till you get them winched up into your field. I guess leaving them sunk and in the way helps to preserve the lower timbers.....
  5. Hey Frosty, what's the update? i'm not sure if you've exceeded the 14 day mooring at Buckby top yet with Ariel, must be nearly time to relaunch no??
  6. I thought from memory it is about 6ft of Cormorant sides with two pointy bits........
  7. i'm a fan of marking out the position the guard needs to be, then tacking some flat bar on to the line for the convex to sit on, depending on the sweep, it may be necessary to tack some horseshoes on to wedge into position, and as others have said, regular tacks helps to reduce the risk of the guard kinking. Kind regards Dan
  8. Langley Mill Boatyard pin is incorrect, as it is in the middle of a private mooring basin. we also provide Diesel and pump out, No gas sadly! Kind regards Dan
  9. I'm aware of Ash, but she is now 9 inches shorter.
  10. Langley Mill has been hit badly, the Erewash has burst it's banks, and the feeder from Moorgreen res has topped over at 5ft, flooding the boatyard and all our buildings, and topping the canal which has now flooded onto the road.
  11. At Langley Mill, the canal has topped the bank, as has the feeder from Moorgreen reservoir, Shipley Gate measuring station is about 2" off its highest ever reading.
  12. congratulations on your imminent purchase!!!!!!!! 🤣🤣
  13. sorry I missed you. week 4 of 5 in South Korea. nearly done!!
  14. i have a set of his winter plates, which I am very fond of.
  15. 12k would be pretty fair. Depending on hull condition, but work has been carried out recently i believe. There are only 2 Keays tugs in existence, and the other one won't be for sale any time soon. Worth a punt if you're that way inclined.
  16. Hi all, It's been a couple of months since, and we've moved on a bit, working mainly on the stern, and building the bow up ready to get the top bend and bow chine profiles scribed in. We have also set up a page, over on Facebook if anyone is one there and wishes to follow our progress. Facebook
  17. Envirograf and stove rope all the way. Never had any issues.
