  1. Thanks to everyone for your replies. It's a lot to take in, as i am a newbie to all this, but i really do appreciate those taking the time to help and educate me. I've decided against running my PS4 while CC'ing, as i realise my current power supply will not be enough. @TheBiscuits I will try that experiment on Monday and get back to you on the results. Thank you for your ongoing advice @Tony Brooks & @booke23 I'm using an Outwell Ecocool Lite 24L. It has an eco setting, but it doesnt say anywhere on the product the power rating in eco mode, although i assume less than 45W. All i know is my engine is a Honda 15, but there are several different models with 15hp. Specs online say '12A electric/6A recoil', so im going to run with that for now. @PD1964 For heating, i'm using a Warmlite WL42005 halogen heater and a wife. @mrsmelly I am indeed an adult with his own hobbies and interests. One of them being gaming.
  2. So im not sure which battery is my starter and which is my leisure battery, but they are 105Ah + 115Ah. I just did a quick audit for my fridge 12v - 45W - 3.75amps - 24 hr usage - 90Ah ... have i worked this out correctly? Am i screwed?! Would CC'ing each day not charge my battery enough for fridge, tv, lights, phone/laptop? I'm definitely considering some solar panels now I think the yellow thing is a battery charger, yeah. I assume it converts shoreline energy to charge my batteries right?
  3. Hey Tony, thanks for your detailed reply. I will attach a photo of my battery set up. I'm unsure of the charging capacity of my outboard. All i can tell you right now is that its a Honda 15HP outboard.
  4. You make a great point Alan, I overlooked that part to be truthful with you. I've only cruised my boat for 3 continuous days. The remaining 6 months have been spend on shoreline, so im not really aware of how good my batteries will perform. I will take your advice and do a full electrical audit. I don't really know where to start with an audit, so ill search this forum for some information. Thanks again for your reply Alan. Your expertise are much appreciated
  5. Hey PD1964! I'm quite sure one of them is my engine starter batteries. I'm very new to learning about how electrics work on the boat, so please forgive me for being so uneducated on the subject. When you say my domestic battery isn't enough, do you mean for running a PS4? If that's the case, i've completely ruled out using my ps4 while CC'ing
  6. Yeah, i have 6 12v sockets on my boat.
  7. Hey Booke23, you have presumed correct. My batteries are EXIDE ER500 + NUMAX XV31MF. It's looking like running my PS4 while CC'ing wouldn't be kind to my batteries, so for that reason, it will remain my winter escapism. I will take on board your information about lithium batteries. Thanks for the information. It's much appreciated
  8. Hey Rob, would a 12v PSU come with a cigarette plug? Would that work?
  9. Thank you very much for this information TheBiscuits. It's looking like a PS4 is out of the question completely because 2 hours is nothing! haha Those you just mentioned Alan are already sorted out, thanks. Recharging laptops would be my biggest concern right now.
  10. Its an outboard engine. Honda. Not sure of any other specs at this moment. 2 batteries (EXIDE ER500 + NUMAX XV31MF). Hope this helps. I appreciate your help Mike
  11. Hey fellow boaters. I have a few questions regarding electrical options on my 25ft cruiser. I'm going to be leaving my marina soon to CC for a few months. I need to be able to charge and run 2 laptops, run a small TV & hopefully (im not very feeling optimistic) run my PS4. In regards to a TV, I intend to buy a 12v cello 24" which shouldn't be a problem running off my battery power. In terms of powering 2 laptops and possibly a PS4, what are my best options? Inverter? Suitcase generator? Solar panels? maybe something else? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  12. Thank you so much for this information Alan. Your knowledge and expertise are very appreciated this end. Winsford is out of the questions now I suppose, so I'm going to research a possible crane drop into Northwich Quay marina. wish me luck!
  13. They were aware that it's 25ft long, although no mention of a hump. I'm going to get back in contact with them to get some more clarification. I'm waiting on their response. As for the slipway contact details. I've just tried their number and a robot answered to say the number is incorrect. I'll try sourcing their contact details elsewhere.
  14. Hi Alan, thank you for your response. The boat will be on a trailer, yes. My licence is pending, but will be sorted by the time the boat is launched. I was advised by someone who is moored on the River Weaver that Winsford is suitable for launch. Now I'm so confused
  15. Hello everyone. I'm new to boating. I need some advice please. What are my options to launch my 25ft Norman cruiser into the River Weaver? Is Winsford Flash slipway suitable for a boat my size?
