  1. Worth checking with the marina that the mooring is in fact transferable, could be just a sales ploy
  2. Please bear in mind that dyneema is almost impossible to cut from a prop if it gets wound round it. I certainly would not use it on my boat for that reason. (I used to make dyneema racing rope). Same with Kevlar!
  3. Hence why I am trying to obtain an answer from the guy who wrote the latest regs. Full cassettes in the recent heat and many miles rule out taking it home. Still new marina that has real facilities.
  4. Am I the only person who's marina (ex marina now) has closed the elsan and expects us to take it elsewhere and the river inspector apparently says it's alright to dump cassette and chemicals in the river? Maybe Mayalld can help me get my head around the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2010?
  5. We had had a rescue siberian husky (Kara) for 10 years and decided we could house another before Kara got too old to deal with a pup. We were told we were unsuitable by a jumped up to**er who ran a team of them! Pets and workers are completely different so because of this person who really had no idea how to look after pets we were unable to home another rescue one. We went and brought a puppy. What is it with these places that they deem someone unsuitable when they use people with no real in depth knowledge but like the power of saying no? It's the dogs that lose out!
  6. I thought it was a fairground stall similar to hooking the plastic duck for the fisherman to play!

  15. We recently left tmobile as the dongle didn't work anywhere in the region of our boat even though supposed to be good coverage! When closing the account they offered it to us for £10 including vat so well worth telling them you are thinking of leaving
  16. Some info here http://recombu.com/news/o2-tariff-updates-...eal_M11486.html
  17. oops sorry, phone cost is £189 on that pay monthly plan!
  18. Yes it is but I think you have to top up £20 monthly although it is not really clear but the phone would cost about £500 too pay monthly = 75 mins and 125 texts = £25 per month, 24 months contract, phone free
  19. I think the 3 GS is the new one it has 2 hours longer life than the 3G
  20. I am considering upgrading to one of these phones. Does anyone use an iphone and would you recommend it for internet on the go use especially on the waterways? ?

  22. What about the dual purpose items to save space? I have a pie dish that doubles as a fruit bowl and a steamer saucepan bottom that doubles as a casserole dish. Also pillows that double as daytime cushions. (bit of a bum when you want to use things simultaneously though )
