  5. Absolutely! DAB Radio's are not the green solution that some "lobbyists" would suggest that they are! IMHO, they are at least 300% more ineffecient than normal analogue recievers! Rob
  6. I totally agree, plenty of heat, with very little ash! 1 fire stoke full lasts easily 32 hours!
  7. Sorry, I forgot to mention the power consumption, according to the manual, it's 4amp, the voltage stabiliser is rated at 5amp on a 19" LCD TV, does it really matter if its up or down scaling? Rob
  8. Hi, I've just bought a 19" LCD TV/DVD Combo with iPod dock, it runs off either 12v DC or 230v AC, the make is Teinuro. I bought it off Mr. LCD for £190.00, including 9 - 30 voltage stabiliser / surge protector and free delivery clicky The same unit is sold at outdoor GB for £330.00 + delivery! Both the picture and sound quality is very good Rob clicky
  9. I concur - I used excel, and pi looks rounded off. But, are we going to split hairs over a fraction of 1cc? But! re-reading the post title, I must admit that the question is confusing, as there is no correlation between CC & HP, HP is purely dependant on the state of tune and aspiration (Super/Turbo charging) of an engine. Rob
  10. Would not the same logic / argument apply to catching a very common form of criminal activity - using a mobile phone whilst driving? or, Inconsiderate lane hogging of the middle lane / outside lane of motorways, since the police decide to abandon proper patrol car presence on the motorways and resort to highway robbery by installing "speed cameras/revenue collectors, since then, "lane discipline" has deteriorated alarmingly. Rob
  11. I make it 2216.702cc Rob

  17. Hi, We are now considering re-upholstering our nb's pull-man dinette seat, back and side cushions. Can anyone recommend a good upholsterer. The same also goes for new curtains. Many thanks in anticipation. Rob
  18. Hi,

I found your postings in this topic, very interesting, you obviously understand global economics, and put it's impacts across very well.

  19. Strange, we saw a number of Halal butchers advertising that their meat is "non-stunned Halal", some people prefer this as they believe that adrenalin helps tenderise meat, which is exactly why cats will cruelly play with their victims before eating it. Rob

  21. Hi, If you know these area's as well I used to, I was born in Sparkhill, you surely must be hard pressed to see evidence of the "enriched fabric of multi-cultured society that our damp eyed politicians refer to, all I can see is seething malevolent hatred pouring from the very beings of these medeivial people. Why are most of the "Indian Restaurants" serving Halal meat? We both love good curries, and the first thing we now ask, is "is your meat halal?" sadly, the answear is almost always yes, according to one of my colleagues (Indian)' he claims that meat served in most "Indian" restaurants is halal, because most "Indian" restaurants, are not Indian and are selling halal meat, because it goes with their barbaric indoctrine/religion, and it is substantially cheaper, as it is subsidised by Saudia Arabia. It now transpires that all frozen New Zealand Lamb is 100% halal, would you care to explain why? Rob
  22. Bentley are owned by VAG and Rolls Royce by BMW Rob
  23. Sorry, but you are TOTALLY wrong, where do you think that Mini's, Toyota's Nissan's, and Honda's are made, not to mention Jaguar, LandRover, Bentley, Aston Martin and Rolls Royce are made? The answer is all the same ...... UK!
  24. Wake up, If you ever happen to drive through boroughs of Birmingham, i.e., Sparkhill, Sparkbrook, Small Heath, Yardley, Acocks Green, Saltley, which cover hundreds of square miles, these are already Ghettos, I suggest that the majority of these area's population are unemployed immigrants. I also confirm that I am not a racist but purely an unblinkered, non-PC realist!
  25. The sad, but realistic fact is that we live in a capitalist society; by that very being, we demand better goods at cheaper costs, so society imports goods from other country's which have a cheaper labour base and in doing so, exploit's that country, in turn, that country sees wealth being generated in that country (ie Japan), in turn, they demand a slice of the same greedy cake, and the whole worlds powerhouse shifts to another country - Poland / China, they in turn see wealth being generated, demand a better standard of living and better quality goods at cheaper prices, so the whole powerhouse shifts to a new continent, ie China until the whole stack of cards comes tumbling down - what we are experiencing is EXACTLY the same as the decline of the Roman Empire, so tighten your seat belts and get ready for a scary, bumpy ride, but also expect the outcome to be hugely disappointing, for as sure as eggs are eggs, we are all going to be far, far worse off, and the good times (if they they ever re-appear) will never be that good again. Sad, but brutally true....
