  1. Question I'm indending to drain down my domestic water system for a narrowboat again this winter. The calorifier is at the very back of the cabin space (under bed) and its drain cock is about the lowest point system. Problem is the drain cock is about 2cm from the floor in a tight space so I can only get a very shallow small tray under it. I have in the past after emptying the water tank spend a long time on hands and knees opening and closing the drain cock runing water in to a very small tray, emptying this into a bowl and then chucking this down the sink. It takes ages! and my knees are knackered!. Can I attach a pipe to the drain cock of the calorifier attach this to a spare domestic water pump I have and with all the boat domestic taps open pump the water staight out without risking collapasing the calorifier?
  2. Are the moorings on the River Trent outside Nottingham County Hall just up stream of Trent Bridge for visitors or are they private?
  3. What's on your mind?

  4. To report issue you need a password & account, I have neither so regret will leave to others.
  5. Thanks Mick thought I was the only one, tried route again making sure to to go near areas of "clear box" and hey presto it works . So there is a glitch, I will now try to report it!
  6. For the record I'm using the suggested version of Canal Plan and have tried the route suggested above and the same problem occurs.
  7. Every time I try to plan a route, enter start & finish places then start to enter some intermediate ports of call the screen clears just to leave the banners & menus. Is it just me or a general problem?

As of today 2nd Nov, I think a bug has resurfaced, just a load of text come up when I access the journey planner
  9. I think I remember some info on a windless designed for those of us who can't get the job done with bruit strenght alone. Is there anyone out there who knows of a windless with a reduction gearbox ie more turns less effort to get the paddles up or similar? Can they be purchased and if so from where?
  10. Thanks for replys they have clarified the situation
  11. Thinking of going through the 2 Droitwich Canals, I know the info in guides is normally OK but I'm looking to moor somewhere near junction with the Severn on the Barge canal, preferably near a bit of human habitation IE not a wilderness mooring. Anybody been through there and have got any ideas?
  12. Thanks to all who added their thoughts, think I'm a bit nearer making a choice.
  13. The 3 Cylinder Perk leaps about at low revs (not tick over), also at high revs and I am told that the unit normally has 4 engine mounts this has 6 rubber mounts. There is a small diesel leak somewhere on the feed to the injectors between the pump & the injectors themselves and this is in an impossible place to get to between the exhaust manifold and the block. The whole thing is a bit of an animal. If I thought an amount of money would fix these problems then maybe keep it, but something tells me it could be sorted then a few weeks / months later the problems with balance would return. To be honest I'm searching for any advice I can get on the matter!
