Hi We’re travelling from Wigan to Barrowford over the next few days for the first time. Can anyone recommend a pleasant, safe, overnight mooring west of Blackburn for one night? Doesn’t need to be near any shops or other facilities. Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks everyone. After a long and hot day, starting early but having to queue at 6 locks, we found a lovely, shady spot to moor near Bramble Cuttings and enjoyed a beautiful summer’s evening.

Thanks for the advice. O Thank you. We stayed a Marbury park a few weeks ago - gorgeous walks. Just wanted somewhere a bit closer to Middlewich tomorrow. May try to get to Bramble Cuttings reasonably early.

Just been looking at Bramble Cuttings - looks good. Are they public visitor moorings or just for Broken Cross Boat Club members? And do they get very busy at this time of year? We’re heading that way tomorrow. Thanks.
