Just come off the phone having spoken to my parents. They have just deposited Ellesmere at the Venitian Marina for the summer. Seems they got talking to some people (as you do on the cut ) who had just come back from Llangollen and were extremely unhappy. They claim that an American company has taken over 12 hotel boats and moors them whereever they wish, not caring if they block the cut or not. Alledgedly, they just want the customers and don't care about any other boaters. Does anyone know anything about this ? Is it true or just scare mongering ? Anyone been recently and can give a report please ? We are planning to go back in August so would like to know if this will be an issue or not as we loved it last time (went for a night and stayed four days). TIA - Panda

Well, I'm all set now. Just got back from the local brewery. 2 cases of beer for me and several bottles of wine for Mrs Panda. Trouble is, we don't go till next weekend and I've got to resist drinking them

Not sure about Dartline build (don't know what that means ), but yes the bars have been removed and she is an ex hire boat from the Ellesmere area so built for the Llangollen would be about right. Harbour Marine were the buiders.

I would never be stupid enough to think of myself as HWTHMBO - been married far too long to make that mistake , but i am He Who Does All The Driving and Bournemouth to Scarborough (and back) the previous weekend is not fun. However, It would be good to meet up, so I expect we may have to visit this beer tent.
