  1. In answer to the OP's question - our Kenwood bread maker at home turns out a very acceptable loaf in an hour. I find it has to be eaten in about the same time though
  2. Was in there four or five weeks ago for a family catch up and the food service was terrible - not sure if they are volunteer workers? It was quite a busy Saturday afternoon though.
  3. Hi there, you may find some useful info in this thread:- http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=37573&st=0
  4. Clicking on a link with the scroll wheel/middle button should open that link in a new tab rather than a new window. Clicking on a tab with the middle button closes that tab too which saves having to select it then select the cross.
  5. Probably a good idea in the long term but i was hoping this would be an easy straight swap over. Bit of a development to the contrary in that the refurbished 'box is slightly smaller than the original. Stupid question time - do i need to empty the engine oil before i remove the bell housing? I can see that i'll need to support the engine first as the rear supports are part of the housing. Can i just do this with some large blocks of wood and a jack? TIA, Roy. Pictures:- My link 1 My link and a video of the gearbox slipping in forward gear:-
  6. Thanks for that guys, i'll add some pictures soon as.
  7. To save starting a new thread i thought i'd jump into this one. Over the last six months or so the forward gear in my Hurth HBW100 (attached to a Vetus 3.10) has been slipping more and more, especially when cold. Once the gearbox is warm it seems fine and reverse is fine, but i'm assuming the "clutch/driveplate" is on it's way out. Having priced up the replacement clutchpack at about £100 i managed to buy a complete reconditioned gearbox for not much more (also previously attached to a Vetus) and it now also matches the colour of the engine My plan is to swap this over myself and RobinJ's advice above is just what i was after. A couple of questions i do have though is whether it is adviseable to try this whilst in the water and can i push the prop back through the stern gland without having to worry about water ingress? I'm not a complete mechanical fool but any tips would be appreciated. I'll try and remeber to take some pictures whilst attempting the swap in case anyone is interested. Roy.
  8. Finally fixed mine this week having lived with it for three years. It was always annoying suddenly going into tickover as the dogs tail flicked the control. On mine (Vetus controls) it involved:- 1) removing the control lever via a small allen grub screw on the bottom of the lever. 2) prising off a plastic cover. 3) tightening down another small grub screw that altered the friction on the shaft (oo'er) 4) assemble in reverse order of above. 5) Repeat steps 1 - 4 as often as required until you have the friction just right. 6) go for a spin up the cut and then repeat steps 1 - 4 again as you realise that it could be a bit stiffer still. Makes such a difference to my cruising though - I can now use the revs between 500 - 900 without holding the lever in position.
  9. Different dogs from what i understand Mary.

  11. Don't know of one in Bishops Cannings, do you mean All Cannings? Safe Clicky
  12. She would perhaps get a ride if she kept quiet
  13. Most. Annoying. Presenter. Evah! I'm not keen and Kate refuses to watch her at all. Shame really.
  14. Do you mean because it has a cruiser stern?
  15. Safe clicky, opens in new window ... now that is quite impressive
