  1. Never owned one but heard good things about IndelB fridges.
  2. Admittedly I didn't have chance to study it in detail but I believe it was welded to the casing.
  3. That's a good point; yes, but there's not.much you can do about the situation. But you are using diesel for propulsion and charging not just charging so the efficiency changes somewhat... I've fitted a cold air feed to my alternator which seems to help although I've never taken any measurements. A few years ago I saw an alternator that had a 5 or 6 turns of stainless pipe around it with water pumped through (boat was raw water cooled anyway) I rather liked that as a solution and the pipe work was beautifully done...
  4. For the engine coolant pump, yes, that's where I got one a few years ago. Or have a look at the link, the last one I rebuilt and listed all the parts required...
  5. https://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?/topic/114439-bmc-22-coolant-pump-refurb/ Or https://www.gipsyspares.com/
  6. Outboards are usually set up to move small boats quickly not large boats slowly, I'd have thought you'd need to change the prop on it, but to what I don't know.... perhaps a 4 blade prob, have a word with the manufacturer see if they do a high torque prop...
  7. That would depend on the size of the speed sign. A little signs is a reminder of the speed limit, a big sign is a change in speed limit.
  8. I wouldn't even consider it as a tender. If you want to use it on any waterway you will need a licence and insurance.
  9. We've been a number of times in campervans, we looked at hiring one a few years ago, the companies I enquired with were fully booked months and months in advance, I fear you may have left it a little late... All the hire companies know exactly which weekend it is and hiked the price considerably! Also don't forget about borrowig/hiring a caravan or trailer tent as pong as your car can tow it! Remember, no glass bottles on site, I remember them taking a glass bottle of ketchup out of our fridge one year!!
  10. If the router is left on then the IP Address won't change that often.
  11. OP: I'm curious, you say you have a 'field' to work in. Ho do you plan on getting the boat from the water to the field? Has the field got electricity, how do you plan on running power tools, chargers, heaters etc? Have you got anywhere to work under cover & dry storage? Then comes the actual work, you realise you'll have to work to at least the BSS code. I agree with what's already been said about costs and timings...!!
  12. I'm sure I read somewhere in the BSS guidance that gas bottle removal should be unrestricted... TBH not entirely sure the Fire Service would risk removing if there was already a fire...

  14. £6.99 ?!?!?! Oh give up, how much copper do you really think you'll get for that.
  15. Woah, easy tiger... as far as I understand from what you've written they haven't said they won't fix, and chances are they'll fix at no cost, they just can't get anyone to you within 48 hours. Not entirely sure you'll take them to the County Court either, but anyway I'm not going to argue with you... Here's an idea, why not learn and understand your new home so you can diagnose any issues your self, and there will be many many issues!
  16. Multimeter is your friend, get one & learn how to use it. In this scenario there's no reason you can't work it exactly how it's wired & where the problem is... Edit: Ha, you just beat me to to ut ref multimeter 😁
  17. I second the Tomzn breakers. The breakers shown above are garbage and are more likely to cause problems...
  18. A few photos of the set up would probably go along way...
  19. I've heard of the Leeds end of the L&L referred to as 'Bandit Country' haven't been there for many many years tho. Edit Had a bit of trouble with some scrotes at a lock in Bedford a few years ago. One of them squared to to me accusing me of 'breaking their swimming pool' !
  20. No doubt there will be a 6 month investigation so that 20 different people can justify their pointless jobs...
  21. I've never seen them, but I'd be really nervous about using them if they were available for the reason that it would be too easy to accidentally be powered by 220v / 240v / mains (whatever you want to call it) I think I'd be much happier & more inclined to modify the lamp with different plug & light fitting so it could only be powered from 12v... Edit: Have a look for BA9 bulb holders, seem to be plenty available with a good choice if bulbs too...
  22. Rattle guns are great for this...
