Tracy, re the hull ground question.

I have had considerable email correspondence with this member trying to get him to follow normal practice, and it is very hard work. He seems to ignore what suits him at the time.

As far as I can tell, he has now bonded the domestic negative to the hull and/or the engine via the engine negative bond, so am happy with insulating the terminal he asked about. He says one of the wires does come from the domestic battery negative.

All I don't know is if the engine is flexibly mounted, and if so does he have a bond between engine and hull.

I agree that ideally he would get rid of that connection between cables and wire them as normal to a main bond point, but I fear that may be a bit beyond him at present.
