  2. Thanks Dave Im now thinking I might do it anticlockwise, set off from the top of the Ashton early and spend the night in Telford Basin and the next morning early go down to Castlfield and if I can moor keep going
  3. That’s very kind thank you . It won’t be until the spring now. All the very best Arthur
  4. Hello Tash & Bex are you a long term moored at Castlfield or just there for a short time . The reason for asking is it would be good to have someone on the ground to let us know if there are any spaces. Maybe you know someone that’s there willing to do that. Arthur
  5. I’m sorry to hear of your experience in Birmingham was it during school holidays
  6. The original question was about the Cheshire Ring and mooring up prior to Manchester going clockwise. Not that difficult a question
  7. My mistake then most people new where I meant.
  8. Not a lot of help there then can’t see the point of bad information
  9. That looks just fine thank you Arthur
  10. Thank you very much. I won’t be doing this until the spring as soon as the winter stoppages lift. I’m moored in Bradford-on-Avon on the Kennet and Avon canal and hopefully go north in the spring and the Cheshire Ring is on my to do list.

  16. Thank you very much for you help much appreciated Arthur
  17. Thanks. I would probably do the Cheshire Ring clockwise do you know of a mooring on the Bridgwater side of Manchester somewhere close enough for me to get into Manchester within a reasonable time not late in the day
  18. So if not Telford where would you suggest? I appreciate this information thank you Arthur
  19. Thanks for that getting out won’t be a problem because I don’t plan on staying anymore than the night. I would leave early the next morning.
  20. Hello I’m thinking of doing the Cheshire Ring clockwise so where to moor up prior to Manchester. I’ve already asked about mooring in Manchester so should be ok with that . I don’t expect to stay in Manchester but if I find it ok I will all be it for maybe two days. I think when I leave I should be able to get up the Ashton and away if I leave early and do the rest of the ring. Thank you for your help Arthur
  21. Well Thank you all for your responces definitely food for thought. I'll probably do the Cheshire Ring shame Manchester is on it. Dont get me wrong i'm no shrinking violet I used to be a fisherman fished out of Newlyn and some of the lads there were quite rough but all had respect. My boat is my home and i dont want it messed up by some low life. I'll probably do the Cheshire Ring clockwise stop somewhere on the Bridge water and get into Manchester/ Piccadilly Village in the morning if thats possible and up the Ashton ether the next morning or the day after. I've looked on Google Maps and the only boats i can se are at Castlfield ,Telford basin is empty of boats. anyway thank you all for your very interesting replys I need to run this past my crew I might get voted out yet, Arthur
