  2. id luv more info on iko pro as ive got 45liters of it. maybe to know how well it lasted thanks
  3. interesting, where can i read more, thanks
  4. hummm point taken, but couldn't u say that about a great many things
  5. as its been reported that that a pro boat yard in holland treat barges with cement dust to both give a harder surface and show were the bits were missed on previous coat it immediately ask "why" do they do that. i didnt say i want to do it, nor did i immediately dismiss the idea as stupid. peoples views are interesting im not intending to as the paint maker to change there views about toxicity [as we all know if u immerse a duck in a can of bitumen it comes up rather dead] as suggested above by whoever, just to ask what specifically is toxic about it, more out of curiosity now ...anyway it sounds good thanks to peoples info here
  6. was on the data sheet. so as i hoped the "Toxic" thing is probably an EEC nonsense. i will call them next week [not the eec]. anyone have any views on throwing cement powder over the wet paint to give a hard finish, apparently boat yards do it in holland. i think someone here was right about reasons for not adding cement to the paint, adhesion trouble
  7. cant use it now anyway if its toxic, thanks every one
  8. notgytg yet any one know how to enter a reply, not intuitive at all just bought 45 litres of it [ less than half price though] , i'll have to paint everybody's boat i think
  9. thanks, very interesting am still interested to know how it differers from the normal bitumen , how much would a v hull 34 ft take for coat . anyone know?
  10. am interested to know how it differers from the normal bitumen , are u sure overcoat time is only 4 hours? how much would a v hull 34 ft take for coat . anyone know?
  11. thanks for the good suggestions/advice. i got the idea from a forum where they threw cement powder of the wet paint [not mixing it] in a dutch boatyard [standard practice at that yard] , whats peoples views on this? using iko pro bitument which i already have but hear is a bit thin. maybe 3 coats!
  12. if paint is quite thin [as bitumens go] i want to thicken it a bit as its going onto a narrow boat hull where the paint thickness is the most important thing. . its been suggested i use cement powder which would also make it a bit harder and resist scraping on the canal bottom. can anyone foresee any problems with it thanks
