  1. A very late response but has the timing chain been replaced?
  2. As suggested... took it out as it was easier, it was gunk sucked into the cam area that caused it. Had a good check of the bearings etc.. all good. Cleaned all the oil ways out and its due back in tomorrow. Looks a bit better for it too ?
  3. Thanks Sam... will give them a bell today.
  4. Cheers... hope they have one in stock ready to go
  5. I think that 13B8 writing is relevant from what I can see.. hopefully anyway.
  6. Ok she's out... blockage found, was indeed a large wedge of crud sucked up after increased pressure after cleaning the top end. Good news is that all bearings look OK... bad news is it looks like I need a new drive plate, looking to source one now. I did feel a vibration under load and wondered if the prop wasn't balanced quite right! Looking forward to getting it back in and running. Thanks for all your help.
  7. Boat had no pressure gauge (has now though). Used a hand held pressure gauge connected where the relief valve sits to gain this constant, correct reading. Tony, Sam - thank you for your replies. We will be back on it tomorrow with a renewed enthusiasm ?
  8. I believe what may have happened after a top end strip and clean is that the increased flow has sucked up some crap from the sump or maybe even from the oil filter housing as some bright spark had siliconed it on in the past (as we found out when removing it). After using compressed air from the top, it has cleared it and you can see the pressure is fine again up at the gallery, for a short time, so the gasket is on OK... then it drops again. The pressure at the bottom end where the switch is, remains constant (using plugged in pressure gauge). I just thought I'd ask to see if anyone had a diagram so it may make it a little easier to understand the route.
  9. Afternoon, I'm hoping one of you fine people may be able to assist. Would anyone have access to an oil flow diagram for a BMC 1.5 engine please? I do have the BMC service manual but it doesn't appear to have this info. Kind Regards Russ
