  1. Thanks robbo , yea I think it got to be chrome that’s what the wife said too
  2. Boat is. Ivory sides with small areas top / bottom of sides in black / I have grey top deck along with grey decks non slip paints , all international colours as left over tins from painting I do , I’ve added new chrome deck fittings and vents I’m undecided on colour, of windows I like black and chrome I can paint a boat but I’m useless at design customer has to choose colour s etc
  3. Blimey don’t know what to say about that , sorry to hear that , s steel screws appear to be best part and I bet you supplied them , Funny that , I purchased vetus vents and changed all deck gear all vetus, was disappointed quality of them considering there two and three times the price and I was well overcharged, got ripped off , my fault should of purchased from vetus shop
  4. After traumatising with all your good advice and helping me save money , I have decided to replace all the windows using channelglaze. I spoke to them today I’m going with the double glazed full hopper have not decided on chrome or black as yet , but I do want grey tint , so I’ll be taking two of mine out so I can measure as I can’t risk wrong measurements, thank you all , and I will be making sure someone gets my almost immaculate old windows I will order in December for around feb March delivery
  5. Hi tony I see channel glaze windows today I’d say looks the better windows, 100 per cent , was not so keen on the strip and screws but be honest minor and I could live with that thanks tony Yes tony definitely better quality I looked channel glaze up to I’ll be ringing them tomorrow as much as I don’t wanna spend the lettuce I’m more likely too . I do like the boat looking good
  6. Thankyou I’m still undecided now channelglaze has been mentioned twice I shall contact them for a quote. Lots to think about new windows. Powder coating and painting Hi are your windows clipped in from inside, or fixed via screws on outside with black rubber strip on outside just curious thankyou
  7. Hi there is a powder coating company only a few miles away from me this seems like the best option thank you again
  8. Mostly single pack paint. Especially international and hempel Have never painted on anodised material before assume there is a primer for it they seem to have everything today
  9. My painting is first class Purdy paint brushes or Hamilton may I say . Yes done lots of modern coach painting Trying to think I probably spent years painting. Inc this year
  10. Thankyou very much tony . I may be going down this road of painting them , I should be able to get a good finish by brush
  11. I have been thinking painting them black as I’d be real unhappy if I spent a load of cash then got worse windows ‘ I do know a paint supplier who could possibly recommend an appropriate primer and paint so that it’s sure to stick to the frames ‘ real pleased with all your comments and help . Thanks so much. I will update possibly pictures of what I do especially painting
  12. Hi I have been looking at Caldwell’s windows on other boat s and I must say I’ve noticed differences comparing with my own example a friend of mine the boat is three years old moored very near me. Her window s look in poor condition maybe they have not been cleaned I don’t know. However my own windows look like immaculate condition I do clean them I’d say 4 or 5 times a year so I have gone off having them the boat next door is also similar again same brand ‘ maybe materials used 8 years ago were better? I’m stuck what to do now
  13. Great thanks for your help some great advice I have been getting from very knowledgeable boaters thankyou
  14. Good knowledge/ comments thankyouthank you
  15. Hi thanks for all your help you all make good valid points . Especially Greg after his experience ‘ I recently took the boat back to metal and re painted it completely. Changing all deck fittings to chrome. I would certainly give my windows portholes away as they are perfect condition apart from I caught them with a grinder has minimal scratches. A couple of times. I’m now thinking single glaze. Thanks again
