  1. I had an unusual conversation with Margarita last night about my concerns of her cooping with the damp and cold at winter, icicles on the inside, no dry clothes but no matter what I said she still wants to do it, so GAME ON
  2. it is just unlucky that the waterways around the area I need are not suitable, but it won't stop me
  3. I am trying to workout if we can stick to the rules and over a 7 month period move around close enough to Eccles, Manchester, be able to tie up and get whatever transport to work, however, it means using the Manchester ship canal and I have no clue what the situation is with mooring there
  4. I've watch more of this guy than anybody else, I got the impression he is quite factual
  5. You've all been so interactive, I'll throw another thing in. My biggest worry is my wife coping with the cold, although she comes from somewhere that has very cold winters you'd think she'd never seen anything freeze, fires on, I'm in a T shirt and shorts and she's wrapped up in a blanket, that's how it usual is in our house
  6. I agree I'm old school and like to discuss face to face
  7. Yes there has to be the expectation and provision for "when it goes wrong"
  8. I really hope it works out for you, I think you've done the hardest part GETTING STARTED
  9. if my wife is working I will also keep my full time job which means we have to moor somewhere and both travel to work each morning
  10. at the moment the best plan seems to be for us to pay for 12 months mooring as close as possible, (Worsley, Sale etc), I have a big caged trailer for my DIY Business so will bring and take tools and materials
  11. yes it is a tricky one but I am determined to give it a go, not sure how or when but I'll figure it out and expect it's going to be hard at times I can not imagine what your experience has been, but yes I want to moor it, finish it then move on. That gives us time to try some time on it at weekends and holidays to find out if we can do it
  12. Electrics, gas, plumbing I already do so not much issue there, I now make furniture so my skill base is improving, if it doesn't workout I hang my head in shame and we go back to living in our house
