Thanks Chris

Hi all ? does anyone have any experience with Volvo Penta 2001 not starting white smoke out the exhaust seem bleeding might be a problem? And there doesn’t seem to be heater plugs on this model ? thanks chris
  3. Thanks the engine is a Volvo penter 2000 series and then Enfield 130 I’m thinking of charging the battery from the alternator as the alternator seems to have another live feed from also so I can use want to charge alternator and want to charge two leisure batteries or maybe switch to directly calling from the starter battery to the leisure batteries when the battery to start the engine is full then from you leisure batteries to an inverter ? I will be living on the boat and it’ll be just a small fridge for milk etc and sockets just to charge my phone and the TV that’s hope this helps chris ps Thanks for all your advice ps 12v over 240 ?

  6. Thank you so much for that I’ll try that I’ll probably have to cut the little Allen key bolts off and re-tapp them as there is not much left and there probably steal used with alloy electrolysis !!!! ?but thank you so much for that tip Chris
  7. Er not sure what to say here lol I just wanted to know if anyone had come across the same scenario I might not of said Exactly what I meant i.e. the history of the boat and everything all of the needed to know is if the gearchange lever can seize where it comes to the casing i’ve been a mechanic all my life And came across many difficult situations this is not a difficult situation by any means I just thought someone might have come across this before but thanks for your help and what great help it was thank you
  8. ok Thanks for the help I’ll take it off myself and have a look I’ve got all the diagrams I need it really can’t be that hard thanjs again Chris
  9. Yes that’s the setup and the two cables go to the control box as you said one to the engine and the other to the drive the cables are all free it’s the short lever that’s stiff thanks Chris
  10. There are no cables on it or the engine as I’ve had the engine out and I don’t use wd40 as it’s no good for that job but thanks for your help Chris
