  1. Thanks for your view, much appreciated. ?
  2. Thanks again for your thoughts and I have the same reasoning, the cable lugs are protected and I changed a couple because they looked Dodgy,
  3. Thanks for your info, I have read a number of posts (not on this Forum) both for and against, I thought there might be something difinitive/new resoning? But again thank you for your explanation.
  4. Does anyone have the Pros and Cons on battery cable protection? Ie, Fuse. Breaker, with/without individual isolating switches. At present there are no fuses fitted between batteries and the usual "Either Or" isolating switch, on my setup. Your advice would be appreciated.
  5. I guess it must have been a relief to get the heating sorted, and pleasing to get assistance from all who contributed.?
  6. Not knowing your set up, I would be inclined to connect a garden hose to the mains and the other end to my system (open the system) and flush out any foreign body that might be in side! Does the trym of your boat have any effect normally?
  7. Generally if there is air in a closed system it will make its way to the highest point in the system, the circulation pump can start making a racket due to cavitation caused by the air. If as you say both In &Out pipes are the same temperature then the water is not circulating. Maybe if there is no trapped air the impeller has parted company with the pump shaft
  8. I found the scaffold plank gangway, too narrow, too slippy and heavy. I took a 2.5m section of aluminium ladder from my garage and pop riveted 2.0mm thick aluminium chequer plate to the rings. No more maintenance. Hope this helps?
  9. Hi thank you for the link, my engine is a 42 hp, 104.19. These were marinisd by a company call Duffield,. Ie, fitted a heat exchanger, your link to this work shop manual is amazing. Thanks you.
  10. Hello, new to the Forum, does anyone have any info on the torque settings for cylinder head bolts, injectors and valve clearances ? On a Perkins MC 42 engine. Thank you
