  1. Many thanks for all the valid contributions, I have bought the correct paint for the purpose as per the sensible comments received, suffice to say the topic has fulfilled it’s use. Regards Gra
  2. Thanks Sea Dog, could you suggest one please?
  3. Can anyone attest to the use of Johnstone’s Garage Floor Paint on their Stern Decking?
  4. Thanks Pal, much appreciated, let me know how the fitting goes! what do you do with the other two that still leak???
  5. Really; do you have the details please? Thank you for researching that, I appreciate your help. Still a bit of a blow though isn’t it!
  6. Yeah Cheers Dude, As you can see I’m ‘tarped’ up at the moment from the outside with bricks keeping it firm to the roof!
  7. Wow! Thanks Sam. Thats a really helpful and comprehensive bit of information. I was hoping there was a sealant you could ‘wipe’ around that seal like you would on a shower! thanks again for the info. Gra
  8. Hi Guys, My hatch is leaking slightly when under severe rainfall as we’ve had recently. I think it is due to the severe heat we had over the summer, causing the rubber to perish, the outer rubber seems fine, it is the rubber seal between the glass and the frame. Is there a silicone or sealant I can apply to this seal? picture attached (it is the black seal between the glass and frame)
  9. I have a 'boatman' diesel stove, the way I have been lighting it is by turning the control knob to say just over 1, waiting 10 seconds, dropping a firefighter into the centre followed by a lighted match, although I think I have read you should do the opposite and drop the firefighter/lighted match and then turn on the control knob. I ask because I have had occasions when it hasn't taken, and had an occasion where it just went out. The stove is from LOCKAGE and is the 25 Sorensen model. I just wondered if anyone has this specific model and if so has any tips.
  10. Thank you Tony Brooks, from what you said I think this is the part I need. Thank you. Graham
  11. Both valid questions; respectively, I don’t know and quite possibly, all I do know is that it had one, I knocked it off so wanted to replace it!
  12. Thank you, sorry for ignorance; O.D?
  13. I managed to bend (reversing) the exhaust elbow joint (Mall 90degree iron elbow) that directs the exhaust fumes toward the water, on trying to take it off it fell into the cut so I don’t have it to know what exactly the replacement part is! And there seems to be quite a few options; male/female etc. I have a thoryncroft 60D engine (1989) Any ideas anyone?
