  1. Effusive praise indeed, thank you on behalf of all the members who offer help and advice.
  2. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  3. Since we all got worried about high VOC varnish, the stuff has been mostly water based,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,in my opinion, rubbish in a boat, useless outside. When it gets damp it leaves the wood slightly and it looks white. It is recoverable with sanding or scraping and re-varnishing. Its better than it going dark, that is harder to rectify.
  4. More pressure in the cooling system will just raise the boiling point, its fairly arbitrary on a boat as it should never get anywhere near boiling in normal use. At normal atmospheric pressure of 14.7 psi. one atmosphere, water boils at 99.98 degrees C, At +5 psi over atmospheric it will boil at 109 degrees C.
  5. Most BMCs with exhaust manifolds with rubber end cap use 5 psi rad caps else the rubbers split very quickly.
  6. Verily. It is Sunday and I have been fraught today having to change accommodation from a resort we booked in good faith which turned out to be a hovel and miles away from where it was advertised to be. Flack from my lady, rushing around to find somewhere to sleep, its getting close to Chinese New Year, heavy bookings. Problems with the lad in France, Brexit mission creep problems. Better now, nice aircon cabana, heated outdoor pool, good restaurant. Sense of humour was exhausted this morning, sorry fellows, be better after a good sleep.
  7. What would you charge to give a £100,000 boat to total strangers, have to insure it, licence it, care for it, clean it, maintain it, paint it and only be able to get 12 to 14 weeks hire if you are lucky? Then there is all the expenses of running the company, staff, insurance, maternity leave, advertising etc. etc. It all adds up and has to be funded somehow.
  8. I have seen a woman on there. Bit of a beggar at blacking time. We managed to create new linear moorings on a farmer's field some 12 years ago, it was not easy or simple, BW then too.
  9. You will never get a watertight seal with 2 round cables in one gland. have seen several brands, any problems with any of them? Don't kno, I have not seen them!
  10. Ta. Suppose so. I used to deliver hire boats, never had a problem. Always took the life ring off the roof though!
  11. N do IFK! Damn Americans started this nimonic balderdash, its confusing. Consensus required What are we calling it? 1 BSS 2 BSC 3 A damn bureaucratic nuisance.
  12. MTB Mega Poster must have wet the bed to be up so early, did he say anything of value?
  13. No, not you, the mouthy bi*ch before who's post I saw only because it was quoted by you. Apologies.
  14. Its a seasonal thing and depends how many booze cruisers have hammered past in the previous days. What is increasing is the number of wealthy retired folk with precious paint on their boats and the number of mindless drunk or drugged idiots living on boats. Both groups are not boaters and are intolerant of others. Don't be discouraged, just enjoy yourselves and pretend its like road rage, just ignore the numpties.
  15. You could always phone first and ask......................
  16. PCB in the heater supplies the pump. Could still be bad connections etc. Check them first.
  17. Spill rail back to front. Nice new paint. Thermostat housing is pointing the wrong way, I suspect that there is no exhaust manifold.
  18. Unions connected to the tank? A picture would be helpful. What is the tank material?
  19. The mistake he made was leaving the undesirables in a condition where they were still able to move. At the final frontier, there is the final solution.
  20. The fast money is on a poor connection, or dirty fuse etc. causing volt drop. Try a direct wire from the battery before going further.
  21. I always have to buy it on ebay, not found a "stockist" elsewhere. My roof desperately needs attention, there are patches where all the paint and the many layers of non slip have come off completely. As a quick fix 2 years ago I Vactanned ( new word ) them and never got a dry enough day last year. So they are still like that and it has neither washed off or got new rust breaking through.
