    The 3 and 10 % rule was added to the ISO in 2013. Most installer are not aware of this within the ISO.

    There is another issue which might need to be considered when installing a Galvanic Isolator. There is alot of documentation that galvanic isolators are being activated By the voltages found on the earth cable within the distribution network on the shore side of the galvanic isolator

    This is a simply question to answer use 10 mm cable from the Batteries directly to the Fridge using the correct protection

    Do not forget there is also a 3 % volt drop rule for essential items of equipment such as bilge pumps etc. This is a requirement of ISO 13297 which now also covers 10133 from January this year.

    EN 10133 has now been amalgamated into EN 13297. These two standards are for DC and AC cable installations. There have been no changes to either standards since 2013

    Yes they were aware of the rules but by waiting for an ambulance it was going to around two to three hours

    Sadly two competent officers have resign because of a formal warning, because they took a injured man to hospital. all of that experience and expertise has been lost.

    The person who works from his narrow boat could have the same qualifications as using someone from a boat yard Over heads will be slightly less. A small example public liability insurance is over £ 1000.00 per year.
