  1.

for some reason the T105RE is a bit heavier too according to specs but does not seem to be available in the UK or at least I can't find it.  They also do an AGM T105 rather than FLA.

Making products in the same place for different markets and levels is a common theme among all sorts of manufactures. It may not always work as they intended but for many it does.

The car market is full of examples (the outer skin looks different but underneath they are very similar such as the cars in the VW group all sharing components, chassis etc.

Marketing is a wonderful thing and it is fascinating what you can get people to believe.

I can confirm that Powerline are not manufactured by Trojan as I and others suspected

Hiwever this does not mean they are poor quality or good vfm

Reply by Trojan to me asking the question to Wil Scotson at Trojan Europe

"can confirm that they are Not Trojan, Trojan are always Maroon in Colour, I will bring this up with Tayna as I know the guys there and it’s a little bit naughty if they are telling customers that they are Trojan."

  2. Trojan batteries are only made in two plants in the USA with a reserch facility in Ireland

I do not believe they would bypass the UK distributor to deal with a small oulet in Wales with a profuct that sells for less

Tanya get all there Trojans from the distributor in Trafford Park Manchester who have exclusive rights to Trojan distribution in the Uk

I would ask for proof thst Powerline batteries are in fact Trojan manufactured, does not make sense to me

  3. Think you may find that Powerline batteries are not as thought

Poweline batteries is a dormant company owned by Tanya so poss that batteries are far east rebadged in Wales not genuine Trojan sold at a lower price

    Time will tell

  4. Hi we have a Web 90s in our 57x10 works 9rads plus hot water has worked perfectly for 8 years with no attention or service

Started to be hard to start last October so stripped down and gave it a de coke back in service now and working 100%

We had a 5.2kw fitted on delivery and found it would not provide enough heat for the system as fitted aproximity 10 kW of rads

As I had queried the suitably of 5.2kw for a 10kw system prior to delivery the builder replaced the heater with the 9kw unit

We use it for hot water only in summer and as we have both room and cylinder stats the unit always runs at full chat so no problems with short cycling and sorting up

Do the maths the heater must match the heat required by the rads

  5. We had a boat like that - have you tried getting your foot 6" above the waterline and then lifting yourself into the boat - I couldn't manage it.

If that is your only method of re-entry I would really suggest you try it (fully clothed) one day.

As I see it the 'best method' is to have an emergency ladder (commonly used on lumpy water boats), it is kept in a 'tube' attached to 'somewhere' on the boat, you pull the lanyard and the weighted ladder comes out and drops down to give 2 or 3 feet below the water line, if you are capable of climbing a ladder, you can get back on board.

Just a couple of examples (£30) many others are available.

    Thanks Ray

  6. I wonder if anything will be done to the timber structure leading to the lock from the Ship Canal.? Definately derelict, not sure if it still serves a usefull purpose, but it certainly adds to the air of dereliction. I suppose it could have been abandoned if B.W.B. had not sold the docks, access could have been through the dock to the Ship Canal. Belongs to Eddie Stobart now.

We spent the night moored to the above timber structure 3 years ago with a few glasses of wine and a wonderfull sunset but did not chance walking on the timber as it looks completely rotten

As we will be using marsh lock twice early next year I for one am peased to see its restoration is underway but must check when due for completion
