    Lemons

I think you should measure those in pounds, not pints.👍

I thought it said melons. I was expecting to see boobies. Utterly disappointed 😞 😞 😞

    Dutch Oven

I use mine mainly for one pot meals - stews, soups etc. To stop burning on the bottom if the fire is too hot I sit the dutch oven on a diffuser once it's up to temperature and put a folded towel on the lid. Thanks for all your replies - ordered one from Amazon - enamelled cast iron. I hope it lasts and works as long as the last one.

    Dutch Oven

It's cheaper than the Staub La Cocotte 26cm at £319 !!!!! Like you say - lots on Amazon. I was just hoping for recommendations from experience of forum members. I don't mind paying up to, say £100, but ordering blind from the internet I don't want to end up with a thin, low quality item.

    Dutch Oven

Thanks I didn't know they were available in aluminium. A bit late now - it went in the bin last week !!!
  7. A question for the hive of knowledge..... Butter fingers here dropped and broke the lid of my dutch oven. I got it from my mother who had it for donkey's years. It was a proper old fashioned cast iron one. Anyway, I'm looking for a new one. It's got to be heavy and flat bottomed to use on the top of the woodburner. Any suggestions? Are the modern enamel coated ones any good - or better stick with bare, seasoned cast iron? Thanks in advance for any advice, suggestions etc.
  8. I use the same heater (paraffin) in my summer house without problems. You get a slight whiff when lighting it - after that no smell at all. I leave a small window open and have 2 CO meters and sleep occasionally there. I get my fuel from Belgium as it's a lot cheaper than here in The Netherlands. The fuel is called petroleum C here which is a bit more refined compared to paraffin. I used to use a calor gas fire but the Zibro works out much cheaper in fuel. With adequate ventilation - no condensation at all.
  9. UPDATE No reply from Hyundai. Reply from Ecoflow - try another generator. It is a grey day today so ran the generator for a few hours. Charged the lead acids, ran the fridge and tried to charge the Ecoflow - no joy. Plugged a 500w greenhouse heater in the generator and..............SUCCESS!!!!!!! Thanks PeterF 🤪 How did we cope before the internet existed?
  10. Thanks I will try it at the weekend.
  11. Thanks for the reply. They are not earthed - maybe worth a try. The Ecoflow does try to charge, then flips out as you say - then it tries again repeatedly. There are no warning lights on either. I tried the generator both on low revs and high. I've also tried altering the charge rate - from 200w to 1200w on the Ecoflow with the same results. I also have a smart charger for the lead/acid battery bank which works fine from the generator. I've sent emails to Hyundai and Ecoflow - no replies yet.
  12. Hi guys I have a Hyundai 2kw suitcase type generator and an Ecoflow 1kw Delta 2 powerstation. The powerstation charges fine from domestic mains power but won't charge from the generator. I'm guessing the "pure sinewave" isn't quite pure enough for the powerstation? I don't really want to change the generator as it's not very old, it's reliable and fairly quiet. Does anyone know of a "plug in" device that can handle up to 1kw and would clean up the electrickery gremlins from the generator?

  14. It wasn't too early 08:00. The nurse asked how I had slept. I'm (half) enjoying an unexpected stay in the Coronory Care Unit in the local hospital. Not the best place to be, but the scenery is quite pleasant to the eye. I haven't seen one over 35 yet !!!!

  16. I would suggest carry on with ICE (it's not too long ago that reserves of oil/gas were found that could keep the world going for another 50 years). Do you really believe all the climate change crap? In the news yesterday was stated this could be the driest July since 190? Because 100 years ago we were all driving Range Rovers? It gives us 40-50 years time to build a reliable infrastructure/vehicles/boats etc to run on electric/hydrogen or whatever.
  17. Let The Labour Party back in. I seem to remember they were quite good at spending money they didn't have.😇
  18. Oh, ok sorry. I read it to mean you would be the kidnapper. When I'm "back on the market" I will just grab a sheep from the canal bank - I'm not really fussy. 😁
  19. Now that's where you're not thinking this out properly. The handcuffs go on the kidnappee, not the kidnapper. 😁
  20. Then alter the ad to say..... "Painting and cleaning experience preferred"
  21. I've met quite a few wimmins that match that description. I likes a challenge.😁
  22. I'm not sure whether you can(safely) fill a smaller bottle from a larger bottle using a high pressure hose connecting them together. Buy a larger bottle, store it at home, and find 2 or 3 small ones to fill.
