Signs went up all over the place, even where I walk the dog. I wonder if they realise the real damage they are doing to local economy over a virus with a death rate of 84 people in a million! Far lower than 'normal' flu. I despair.

Yes, trouble is lots of agencies shutting down. All these checks for money laundering is one of the reasons our house sale has taken so long. I know quite a few boaters have a property they rely on letting out for an income. In the ideal world someone would have a caravan they could let out. I'm thinking I may buy one and just park up somewhere. By the time I get evicted I'd have finished the work anyway?

Barbridge Area, Rental accommodation needed Does anyone have or know of any rental accommodation within easy distance of Barbridge? anything considered We have sold our house & our narrowboat is not yet ready . WE need a short term rental for 3 adults whilst I stay aboard get the work done. Typically it never rains but it pours & 2 of our children have decided to come 'home' from university just as we've sold up. To make matters worse our oldest son is asthmatic and has been told to self-isolate. We are in the process of purchasing another property but the current crisis is causing us unexpected delays.

Years ago we had a blue one with a sliding roof dumped up on our land during one of the Great Ouse more spectacular floods. In those days there was no way of getting mobile crane access to attempt to refloat it so it ended up being a really useful shed for years until being engulfed in hawthorn and brambles. I was always impressed by the internal space compared to the Broom 30 we had at the time.

I have tested all the fuses with my rather expensive multi-meter & yes the opaque fuse is supposed to be opaque

I have never had the luxury of shoreline unfortunately. I use the 12/200 on the boat with my big gennie as required. I'll use this 'problem' 12/20amp as a spare . I can't really sell it with this problem .

I've also got the 12/200 which works fine (touch wood). I've checked all the fuses on the 20amp & they're all OK. Funny thing is 2 +s still work!

I have a Victron Centaur 12v 20amp charger where one of the two outlets has stopped working. The 2nd outlet works fine. I've had a quick look inside and the 2 glass fuses which seem OK. There's another (single) opaque fuse? but I'm guessing that's OK as one outlet is working. Is there anything else I can check. I'm not 100% certain but I have a strong suspicion that a battery may have been wrongly connected as I lent the charger out to a fellow boater in need & it was all OK at the time. It has stood idle for around a year. Any ideas how to fix? I must admit I've also asked the 'wizards' on facebook but no joy there

You can store red diesel for years no problem. We did on the holding. It's always best to keep the tank on the boat topped up, stops condensation problems. I always carry a couple of Jerry and full just in case.

Has anyone tried fitting secondary double glazing to portholes? I'm toying with the idea of using 12mm Glass "Look" Cast Acrylic Discs inside my fixed non-opening portholes.

If you're worried about water pooling on the windowsill you can attach some acrylic glass using double sided Velcro masking the whole window off whilst the shower is in use . We had that set up in a sailboat worked really well.
