  2. Good comments guys. Ours will be the radiator type. It's 1 - 1 so far then.
  3. Morning. We are planning to have a multi fuel stove on our sailaway. We are also going to fit central heating and was wondering what is best between eberspacher or webasto. The Eberspacher is a bit more expensive than the Webasto but is it any better. Regards John

Thanks for all the input guys. Although we won't be watching lots of tv we will want a good picture when we do. Looks like it's 50 50 between aerial and satellite dish. As I'm still in the planning g stage I have a few months to decide Cheers John

Thanks for that. We only want freeview or freesat. Just trying to work out the best option. It's the same wiring for me whichever way I go lol. I will put the coax cable in before I line the boat out Cheers John Whichever method we choose we will need to take them down while travelling Cheers John

Hi. I'm well into the planning stage of our narrowboat sailaway which will be ready in Nov. What is best for tv. An aerial or a satellite dish. I don't mind if I have to set either one up each time we move. Thanks in advance John
  10. I have downloaded the bss document. It's great reading and full of useful information. Cheers John Cheers just downloaded latest version. Will print it off later John
  11. I have downloaded the bss document. It's great reading and full of useful information. Cheers John
  12. Thanks for that great info Regards John
  13. I've not started yet and was planning to run all cables at high level and then drop down to plugs and switches and across for lights
  14. Thanks for that info. Regards John
  15. Think that's the best idea to do. It will be easy to get at if needed in the future. Cheers
  16. Ha ha lol. Yep a double positive So you would surface mount wires lol.
  17. Noo chance of that lol. It's a spray foamed sailaway. It's a 12 month project and hope to move aboard next year if all goes well. Sure we won't mind the winter months. Modern boats are very cozy these days. We have more or less planned the layout. Reverse layout it is and a pump out toilet ha ha. Bugger that cassette carrying lark ha ha
  18. Deffo not cheap but I can at least pack in working. Ican't wait. Roll on November lol Also Good comment Niel2. Think I'm going to put the bulkheads in first then do first fix electrics.
  19. Once my bulkheads are fitted I don't intend to move them though. Must make sure they are in the right place lol. If the boat needs work in 20 years time that's for then. I intend to do this once only and then live on the cut a nice relaxing life I hope ha ha
  20. We are having a sailaway and the floor and ballast will already be fitted. I will have to get under the floor to put shower waste etc. I can do first fix electrics with or without bulkheads being in place. I just can't see any reason in making the job harder than it needs to be. If I need access under the floor in the future I can cut an access panel no prob. Keep the replies coming guys. I have loads more questions to ask before I start. The boat not ready till November. Must be nuts starting in the winter lol. Looking at the best inverter chargers at the moment so may ask a few ideas about that too soon Regards John
  21. Hi. I am just doing a bit of pre planning and was wondering what your thoughts of about fitting bulkheads. Does it make any difference at all if you fit them before or after lining the walls and ceiling. I don't have a problem with cutting them to fit buts it's so much easier to fit them first before linings are added. Your thoughts are very much appreciated John
  22. Lymm to Otherton in November in a sailaway with no bed. No heating. No heater etc. No toilet or washing. We will if we have to but it's a 4 day journey lol. In the winter.
  23. Hi. This has probably been asked before but ad I'm new on here does anyone know of a decent narrowboat transport company who dosnt give you their phone number for a price ha ha. I will need a 65ft boat transported from Lymm to stafford area sometime in November. I don't expect to get it cheap but don't expect to get fleeced either
  24. Thanks Tony. That's the type of answer I was looking for. Learned something already. I will have a word with an inspector and take it from there. Can't wait to get started. Boat only just ordered. Should be sailaway in Nov Cheers John I have read through all the pages on that link. Really useful info for me. Helped a lot
