Hi Im currently doing some research for a descendant of the Buckler family. She is an elderly lady called Veronica. Her mother was born on a wooden boat called Japan at Braunston which i have found a picture of. She lives down the road from us here in Australia. She emigrated here about 40 years ago and is looking to trace some family members. I notice you mentioned Alfred Buckler in your article regarding wooden boat Hardy. She has given me her family tree and would be grateful if anyone knows of any surviving family members that i may put her in touch with. Ivan Case

Just been looking at your discussion with Ross, about the we're about s of Cleopatra. I'm sure you have found her by now as it's an old discussion. I'm David & Colleens younger son at the grand age of 50 soon. My parents bought Cleopatra in 78. I remember when we was taking her to Braunston to be restored by Simon/Wrex Wain and Ken Freeman from London, my dad approached a corner somewhere (too long ago to remember) heading for a collision course with the bush so shouted to me to run to the front to fend it off. I never made it as I fell through the rotten roof and landed on the top bunk lucky for me. I have a few pictures of her at Braunston during restoration and some of when we lived on her at Stowe Hill Marine at Weedon formerly Waterways Holidays. I live in Australia now (country not boat) and will sort some pictures for you when I get home from work next week.
