You mean they took their stuff off the grass and put it on the towpath?

The bowline certainly was, and as far as I know still is, a favourite knot in the fire service, with many different applications including as a rescue knot. Some of us were able to tie it around a person, whilst completely blind, with thick gloves on, so that it fitted tightly first time, and tie the knot in front of the person whilst standing behind them.

Very nice views if you look leftish over the top of the shopping centre. It can also be morbidly fascinating to look at what goes on in the huuuuuuge car park

I think it is the land up to the canal that is owned by INTU There was a floating market held there this summer. One of the cafe boats put some chairs, tables, and sun shades out on the grass at the top of the slope. INTU asked for them to be removed and the floating market organiser had no choice but to comply

It is an odd statement, hence my unease when I went to bed last night. Cognitive dissonance if you like. I was in conflict between a view I hold and knowing, barely consciously, that there was a different way; though that might require me to go outside my comfort zones and take a risk with feeling not safe. I'm not very good at going out of my comfort zones. I'm not very good at feeling "not safe"
