  3. Is bow hauling it using scouts as the power source not an option?
  4. This was not true of the chap we passed in the flats that overlook the Macc in Congleton, who was stood making a brew wearing nothing but an air of surprise. This has become part of the phenomenon when we’re boating known as “naked wednesday” as it always seems to be a Wednesday if we see someone in the buff 😬
  5. you should be careful with it, Eugene (well alright, Arthur)
  6. That's the spot between Tring and Berkhamstead is it? asking for a friend
  7. His sister Di made some odd films with that John Waters bloke though
  8. i'd not say i've noticed it more, but there's always a few that will stare through you as if you didn't exist. And of course it's always 50/50 with the fishists, but i always make a point of giving them a cheery greeting if only to annoy them

  10. Seeing as it’s you and you’ve asked so nicely, no 😛 It can’t be edited now i’m afraid, i’ll claim in my defence that i’ve been reading too many online news headlines recently and have become subconsciously infected with clickbaititis. I’d tell you more but you’d not believe what happened next!

  13. This may prove problematic after sampling the local fermented beverages. Plus having once seen some very talented yoofs “slacklining” i don’t think it’ll keep ‘em out, although they were in Mallorca.
  14. That's ingenious, you can lift yourself out as and when you please I'm considering one of those Heatherwick rolling bridges installed on the well deck, then you can just drop mud weights in the middle of the canal, roll down the bridge and off you go. It will need a remote control so you can retract it once ashore, and probably advisable to check batteries on same before leaving/arriving. You can then leave the boat out of reach of miscreants for as long as you like. I can foresee no possible downside

  18. As they’re not doing any harm or getting in the way i guess i’ll just leave them there. Just wanted to check they didn’t serve some arcane purpose as a quick internet search yielded no useful results.
  19. I’m intrigued why the crane’s signage bears no resemblance to where it reckons to be supplied from 🤔
  20. Was checking the fire extinguishers yesterday, and this one in the engine room has magnets stuck on it, any good reason why? Also, how old is too old? All three are in pressure according to the gauge, but two are 2007 vintage and the one with magnets 2006. BSS blurb doesn’t seem to mention any age limit that I can see.
