  1. Wot about an air fryer, they can be versatile, and come in different sizes.
  2. Ah, maybe I should time my arrival for Wednesday 22nd May, and volunteer to be test pilot!
  3. Won't the Marple flights be operational by the time i arrive? Also hoped the vlockies would be around once it warms up a bit, i'll need to garner some local knowledge. Its not the first attempt, but im a bit more driven this time At the moment, Im heading west towards Hebden Bridge, just for a change of scenery
  4. Dulux Weatherseal is often recommended as well
  5. Dont use sand. Buy a pack of non slip granules and follow the directions. I put first topcoat on then final topcoat on before it has fully cured, (read directions) and the granules are mixed with the second coat, stir frequently. I use 4 " rollers plus a 2 inch brush. If you have to leave first topcoat too long you need to sand it before the second coat. I do my gunwales this way, its not an expensive additive. There is somethibg called raddle red traditionally used on boat roofs.
  6. I'm feeling sea sick after two minutes, I think people use a Go Pro to overcome wibble/wobble.
  7. ^^^^^^^^^ and many po8ntless posts, lol
  8. In view of this, i need to plan my summer cruise to the Macclesfield very carefully, what do folks recommend, im thinking of going to Hebden Bridge first. I have been to Burnley once, and will never return. I usually draw the line at rwo locks per day unassisted!
  9. Lol, they tried that and it went down a black hole. The families asked to pay their fair share, and i mean adults, not their very costly children, nearly rioted. Votes count not logic ?
  10. I think there is a standard 5% tax even on heating
  11. I am condemned to Hades: last time as I recall it was blasting down with wind and rain, I just put cash in a polybag and handed it over, aargh!!
  12. Well, I mean strong gusty winds blowing straight from the waterpoint, the gap is a bit tight for manoevering.
  13. He tied up at the waterpoint just as i was about to go on it, ( the wind having died down,), i could not be bothered faffing about any more, so just sailed past him.
  14. Too late now, they assured me I would be refunded, and an hour later they closed the yard for the Bank Holiday, fortunately i phoned them again before i set off. I tried burning one after partially drying it out, it seems to be exploding! Im stuck with them as i will be moving to the next waterpoint asap, lol.
  15. The marina know me, i used to have a berth there, and ive bought diesel from them a few times. PS I absolutely avoid puting tree branches or any other stuff on my roof. PPS Ive moved four times this month, six times if i include trips to waterpoints!
  16. Thats the boatyards idea, not mine, i usually pay £1pl, though when prices were unstable i think it went to £1.25 ( £1.45 propulsion) . It would not be a good idea to argue with the vendor imho.
  17. Err, well strong offshore wind for two days, i did try. Then as i was going to try again another boat came along, just as i was casting off! I'd filled the bottlesthe previous day, just in case of such a rare event.
  18. Ive just topped the reservoir with half a litre of Prestone, wonderjng if i should drain off one of the radiators which gets warm, but the other one is hot. The reservoir lid is missing, should i cover it to prevent evapouration.
  19. It is vital to buy kiln dried hardwood logs, as i know to my cost. Ran out today so bought a bag from local building supplies. They could not be wetter if they'd been floating in Timber Ponds for a week. They insist on me returning them, Its actually illegal to sell wood unless its 20% moisture content, and they have a yard full of the stuff!
  20. I recently had a payment from my bank referring to an ATM transaction, but it must be many moons ago, I've checked back about six months, anyway I've not queried it, but it would help if they identified the date or location.
  21. I decided to dip my tank once, and only once, my dpstick proved to be rather short, and its still there, floating on the top of the water. I'm fairly short at the moment as was unable to top up at previous water point, but I took the opportunity to fill some bottles.
  22. The problem is, as always, one wants to know best prices if one needs 100l, but if its only to get you there, or they charge marina prices, one is inclined to buy smaller amounts, which is frustrating for the vendor and the boater. I could have updated the list recently, but did not have the split, it was charged at £1.00 for cc, Goole Boatyard, not Viking! I signed a form, which they filled in.for me. I am happy with £1 a litre. I think some places make different charges for smaller amounts, which is reasonable, selling twenty litres will hardly cover costs
  23. I buy a mix for the reason that my stove does not start well with coal and firelighters. I use Matches firelighters Kndling Split logs, Silver birch preferred Ovals, at £16.50 for 25kg Six excell Eight logs Three kindling £150 Firelighters £5.00 £20 to £30 per week Logs don't stay in overnight. Hardwood logs kiln dried are about £8,5 per net. I have a delivery from those who deliver coal logs and kindling. Cheapest logs are those you forage, but need to be cut and dried.
