  1. Yet another vote for Capt Tolly's Creeping Crack Cure, it sorted two leaking windows on our boat earlier this year. I used a hypodermic syringe to apply.
  2. I take it that he is no longer a friend.
  3. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  4. Thank you for all your replies. I will be using them to tidy up various lighting circuits.
  5. Hi Are these type of connectors acceptable in boat electrics? https://www.amazon.co.uk/WAGO-221-413-ELECTRICAL-CONNECTOR-220-240V/dp/B01AKF3I58/ref=d_pd_sbs_sccl_4_2/257-7456632-3153727?pd_rd_w=JEueO&content-id=amzn1.sym.c633ef94-5925-4800-8916-1372f3be4382&pf_rd_p=c633ef94-5925-4800-8916-1372f3be4382&pf_rd_r=2P3PYEWNJZYDX99DK4NS&pd_rd_wg=1VWom&pd_rd_r=ae574588-3287-4986-9ff4-160484eaa05c&pd_rd_i=B01AKF3I58&psc=1 thanks.
  6. I believe it is now privately owned and used as a weekend “cottage”. I think we saw you on the Sharpness canal on Wednesday and Friday.
  7. Our home mooring is in Gloucester and have found that if the light remains red when we are getting close to it, a couple of short blasts on the horn tends to get their attention. This was suggested by one of the permanent bridge keepers and it always seem to work with no adverse reaction from the bridge keepers, who I have always found to be very cheerful.
  8. I think that Pinkhatman video must win the prize for the worst YouTube narrowboat video, unless of course you know otherwise.
  9. Thank you for all your replies, I didn’t think there would be such heated replies. It’s a good job I didn’t mention stove fans and composting toilets, although I’m not sure how I could have done that. Maybe next time, thanks again.
  10. My reason for asking is that my grandson is making me some wooden fender hooks as part of his Duke of Edinburgh Award woodwork assignment and I thought it would be good if he made the whole thing. It would seem that I will buy rope fenders instead.
  11. Morning. Does anybody know where I can buy the rubber pipe used in pipe fenders?
  12. I can confirm that the boat is still there as we saw it yesterday morning on our way to Stourport. We had offered a tow, so we stopped blew our horn several times and shouted out but there was no sign of life in both house or boat. The mooring is on the offside and for obvious reasons we didn't want to moor up and knock on the door.
  13. We are planning to come along that stretch of canal on Sunday or Monday on our way to Stourport. We will keep an eye open for you as we pass.
  14. After reading your first post, in which you say your Dad is getting too old to look after the boat, why not ask him how the electrics work?
  15. Thank you for your replies, it seems that I may be overestimating how often you have to clear a blocked prop.
  16. Hello I have been looking at grp canal cruisers and I have a question about which engine configuration is best. I have seen two boats for sale same model but one is a diesel shaft drive inboard whilst the other is an outboard. Initially I was drawn towards the inboard engine but then it struck me what do you do about things caught around the propeller. There is no weed hatch on the inboard so how do you clear the propeller when the worst happens and secondly how often does this happen? Thanks
