  1. W+T That was the main reason I was thinking of the Davey Hot Pot. I read about it here on this forum somewhere, and the person who posted said that she could bank it to stay in all night. Again they do cost quite a bit more Than Ronnie's one.
  2. I love that Pipsqueak too, but I wonder how long would it stay in for if you banked it up and left it for a while?
  3. I can't say that I had considered the 90-degree angle, I think that I have seen then but I just presumed that they worked because of the draw from the flue, I could be mistaken though so I'll go and have another look. We have quite a few good stove shops round where I stay so it's fairly easy to get a look first hand. Thanks for the tip.
  4. Is it my imagination or is the handle on the front of your stove made from a bullet casing? I too love an open fire and I really miss not having one at the moment. I've been looking at a Davey Hot Pot for my shed / workshop so I'll be interested to follow your progress as this might be a good alternative.
  5. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  6. Thanks again Alan. Your boat is a beauty. TTFN.
  7. I have no idea if I've done this right but I think I've just up loaded a picture - this is the Inverness end.
  8. Ah. That must be you with your pride and joy at Fort Augustus possibly?
  9. Truth be told I prefer the other end too. We have a wonderful variety of boats and ships on our canal but sadly no narrowboats.
  10. So the magic number is 10. I must have looked every where but the rules & guidelines section. What a numpty I am. Thank you for all your effort Alan, that was very kind.
  11. It would appear that 5 is not the magic number.
  12. If I just post this post then that will be 5 posts and then I can go and see if I can post in The Virtual Pub, then I may need a wee quick snooze, as I'll be all posted out. Tumsh.
  13. 1st ade. Being a bear of very little brain I got confused by this and presumed it meant something I didn't understand so I just went with the first half and was grateful for that.
  14. I'm not a newbie (as such) but I am a bit of a lurker so I've only posted a couple of times, . When in the Virtual Pub I can't seem to find a way to reply to anyone, even when signed into my account. Could this be because of my lack posts and if so how many post must be made first or am I barking up all the wrong trees? Thank you. Tumsh.
  15. Hi Cheshire~Rose, I saw your post earlier and followed your link and then spent ages exploring the Chesterfield Canal Trust website, reading all about the restoration work. When I first read your post I though that the trust might be doing a little clearing of a slightly over grown waterway, but not so, this is a massive project and it has been fascinating woking my way through the photo journal on the CCT site. You say that donations can be sent with a CWDF reference, will a note sent with the postal order cover that? Good luck with this. Tumsh.
