  1. Hello Recently purchased a boat that was painted with symphony narrowboat paint and needs touching up in places and the roof re-doing. Wondered if anyone recommends sticking with the same paint or if there is a better option? Also, planning to keep the roof the same colour so thinking I don't need to sand back to bare metal apart from rust spots? Thanks, Malcolm

  9. Hello, A family member has recently purchased a dutch barge and looking to get it insured. They're struggling as have only had an "in-water" survey done and compnaies are sayign they need a recent out of water survey. The boat is 1926. Is this normal? Anyone know of any companies that don't require this? I know they should have got an out of water survey done but they couldn't afford it. Cheers, Malcolm

  21. so tried letting some water out of top screw with no luck. have also tried running engine. Loads of smoke comes out now when trying to start. Am thinking it may be better to get a new one as found a direct replacement for £700 with 3 year warranty:https://www.bowerspartsonline.co.uk/brands/eberspacher/complete-heaters-kits/eberspacher-d4wsc-hydronic-4-12v-water-heater-12v-252257050000 Are these easy to replace like for like? Is it a simple disconnect and connect job? Thanks,
