  1. At last at boat with multitude of catch up jobs....like everyone else. Time limited to prepare and paint Well Deck Lockers. Simple question...can the Hammerite paint inside the locker also act as an undercoat for a subsequent Craft Master topcoat where Hammerite cuts into the coachwork?
  2. Vactan anti rust on the bare bits then Epifanes Multiforte worked for me. Good anti slip properties and has lasted well. Go for a light colour unless you want to fry eggs on the roof!

  4. You think 750ml tin is too big - my roof is painted with Epifanes Multiforte that need a bit of touching up - probably a small cupful would do job. Only available in 4 litre tins at about £60; unless someone else knows different?
  5. Maybe CRT should move towards bye bye, bye laws then.
  6. So according to bye law if a I drop windlass/keys into canal I'm not allowed to retrieve them? And what is the penalty for removing items. Looks unenforceable to me. Lost a mobile a year ago, the magnetic guys are welcome to it.
  7. Hi Does anyone know of a 12V slow cooker that actually works and isn't going to cost more than a few pints of beer? Ta
  8. Not just Ryanair - the entire aviation industry use that term
  9. I endorse the comments to broaden your search area; there's a lot of brokers around the Rugby area; I've had a couple of dealings with ABNB and found them really good
  10. Not sure about the build quality but I moor close to a two year EM boat and the paintwork is bubbling already - maybe a one off.
  11. Bloomin heck - that was quick - Thanks
  12. Hi Grateful for opinion/advice. Just lit Thetford cooker after long winter break and flame has an odd burn pattern with a couple of bright yellow flames. Does anyone know cause/cure and indedd if it's safe to use. Thanks
  13. If you decide to visit Whilton I suggest you also put aside time to visit ABNB just up the road at Crick as well as Rugby boats as previously mentioned. You will find very different approaches to the art of boat selling!
  14. Plusnet uses the EE network and is about half the price

  17. Boiling water from tank for tea and coffee; bottled for cold drinks - this option not available but I believe quite common from folk I've met.
  18. A look at the URL (address) will often help eliminate fake sites.
  19. I rather take exception that all leisure cruisers are rich; suggest you seek medical assistance to get that chip on your shoulder removed. By the way I've signed, mainly because it's grossly unfair on the live-aboard population who I believe in the main get on with us leisure bods.
  20. It amused me when Jones the Boat stated the etiquette for crossing was only to proceed if the Aqueduct was clear when he is famous for crossing regardless.

  22. Just finished this years extended cruise and have encountered numerous Volockies on our travels and must say overall IMHO they provide an excellent service. I respect boaters preference for doing the locks themselves but on flights such as Watford and Foxton, the Vlockies are essential to keep the whole process moving along efficiently, particularly with their assistance to solo boaters. 23. Slightly off topic, but nearly got taken out by two quad bikes whilst walking underneath the low bridge at the Middlewich Junction a few days ago. Two guys each with a kid perched on the front and needless to say - no helmets. Does anyone know the legallity of that?
  24. Late and unaware - as usual!
