  1. Hi all we posted a report tonight. Hopefully successfully! If not we will have to go through other channels to reactivate the subject of our stolen narrowboat on the forum and post again. our journey since we last posted has been both frustrating, tedious and a roller coaster negotiating the Police investigations and Court procedures. Also the investigations are still on going, therefore we once again are unable to fully report to you the facts. However, the net appears to be closing and we will post on the forum the conclusion and also, if permitted, on the canal world magazine. However we thank you once again for all that you did, the support we received was amazing and carried us through what a traumatic time in our lives. Thank you all!

  3. Hi all and thank you for your patience while we frustratingly have had to remain silent whilst the police and the courts were still active, as we did not want to predudice the case.

The person who was found in possession of our boat has now appeared at the Crown Court in Nottingham and has at last pleaded guilty and has been given a two year suspended sentence and fined. The thief still appears to be at large and on going investigations are still taking place,

The last nearly two years have been thwarted with every conceivable frustration. We will assure you that the whole story of our boat being stolen, recovered, police enquiry, Court Case postponements will be reported in full detail on both the forum and in the Canal World Magazine if possible and I think you will all agree that it will be an intriguing and amazing read. Whilst the final chapter is hopefully being written we must ask once again for your patience.

The Forum as you know were fantastic and without you all would not have been able to endure the search for our boat alone. We cannot thank you enough for all of you who were watching for our boat, cycling tow paths, standing vigilant in the early hours guarding our boat etc. You were all Amazing.

It has been suggested that our silence may be suspicious can we assure you we are united with our boat and no one we knew as a friend or relation had any dealings with the theft.  Be assured we will tell all as soon as we can.

You all have been terrific thank you! Watch this space!

  4. Yes we will start a new line when we are able to tell you more. Thank you all.
  5. Hi all Please be assured that we will tell all, with grateful thanks to you all when we can. You deserve this st least for all your help. We know that our thief was watching this forum and acting on our comments, so it is vital at the moment we stay frustratingly quiet. Very best wishes to all.
  6. We have not heard anything from the Police. Sorry I do not think anyone has been found, thanks for all. Very best wishes to one and all.
  7. Hi, still unable to post, agony! No one has been arrested, as far as we know. Enquiries are on going. We are watching the posts. another security measure, having your windows marked with your license number? Missing saying thank you all the time, so thank you everyone!
  8. We are still not able to join in with comments etc at the moment. Two points we would like to clarify, there was no one on board when we found our boat, also we have not been informed by the Police that anyone has been arrested. Thank you all for comments and kind words, we really do appreciate you all.
  9. Thank you for your very kind and supportive comments. If any of you are passing a poster or see one, and it is convenient, would you mind removing it, or ask the boatyard, or marina etc.to. We have, with Robert from Mercia, sent the flier to so many that I for one have lost count of who has one and who not, many thanks. Happy cruising everyone! And
  10. Hi list. We have decided the time has come For us to post the forum, it has been agony watching your posts and all the activity you have undertaken to help us find our boat, and being unable to post any answers, or comment. Our hands have been tied as the Police are still investigating the theft, so our report to you can only be limited at the moment. We had a phone call Thursday morning just after 9o'clock from a Phil and Barbara stating that they were sure they had just passed our boat. The police confirmed this after investigating. We, with our loss adjuster headed separately, to Staffordshire and identified the boat as definitely being our boat. we were on our boat when We noticed someone taking a photo of us, and sorry I did not mean to sound aggressive. well done for being observant. But it was us. We took her to a more secure mooring at Weston that evening where someone could keep an eye on it. Sorry to you very kind soul for Waiting for the Police for two hours in the early morning, And the Police not turning up. Saturday we took our boat to a safe place. We know much more but once more we have been asked to remain silent until further investigations are complete. Now we really must say how absolutely fantastic you have all been. Some of you, lots of you, have gone beyond anyone's expectations and spent so many hours scouring the canals, walking, driving, cycling, giving out leaflets, talking and spreading the word and without you all we would not have our boat back. No words can express our gratitude and we are so proud to be part of your community. We cannot describe our feelings when Graham once more held the tiller and I cast off the mooring ropes, it was terrific! Little in my wildest dreams, when we woke in the morning, did I imagine that we would, once more, be on our boat again by the evening! You really are st We will give you further updates when we are allowed, but it may be a while.
  11. Thank you for this thread but there was not a sticker in the window of our boat saying what marina we were moored. Hope this clarifies.
  12. Sorry folks, My posts do sometimes have errors. I have promised to slow down. The video is of our boat and was taken when we were returning to our marina after a visit to Stone on The Trent and Mersea. We are moored in the video below Great Heywood on the Trent and Mersea. The date was the 30th of June. Well before it was taken on the 11th of July. You may notice that it was posted on the 11th also, which caused us great excitement until we realised it would be physically impossible to travel from Mercia Marina at 9.30 am, and then to be moored in the opposite direction on the Trent and Mersea below Great Heywood at 4.15! I do hope I have made this clearer, many thanks.
  13. Well done Richard! thanks. Nice to have someone on board who knows the technical know how of sending the link to the forum!
  14. We have been contacted someone who has noticed our boat moored on the towpath on the Trent and Mersea, just below Great Heywood Junction. It was posted on the 11th of July, but we feel it was when we were returning from our trip up to Stone on the 31st of June. If you would like to take a look, it really does show the unusual stern platform. If you go to YouTube. Type in: narrowboat holiday on the Trent and Mersea canal 2016 watch pt. 3. It is 2mins into the film. Thank you for all have done today, Here's for tomorrow!
  15. I have talked to several marinas and boatyards all this afternoon about this recent sighting, and only two I phoned had heard of the stolen boat. I have been though the mooring book and emailed most and our loss adjuster has emailed heaps of boat marinas and yards yet still it seems lots of them Are still unaware. The dog and duck went through the Atherstone locks and the lock keepers did not spot it. it was only Dave Payne who did and followed them down until we were sure between us that it was not our boat. So with that in mind it could be out there, says she hopefully. It may well be another false sighting, but one time it will not. Do not be put off contacting us and qthe sighting proving to be false, please let us know if you feel it could be ours. If we can Make a note of who was onboard, if you can, and try to take photos on your phone, not always easy with tiller in hand! But we may just crack it next time. What can we say, you have been brilliant,
