  1. Started buying a squeaky ball with my online Tesco order, now ours gets excited when the delivery man turns up with the groceries, much to the amusement of the delivery man. Mind the squeak only last a couple of days. (They are a throwaway item... ?)
  2. OK... so the app says: Yield - 140Wh P max -51W V max - 58.01V Comprende?
  3. I knew I shouldn't have quoted that... I'm on shaky ground: 140Wh - 51w - 58.01V Does that make sense?
  4. Depends on how much solar we get, this morning the engine went on for an hour at 8.15am, (it was hissing down so everyone was inside anyway), we've just kicked up the engine (5pm) it'll probably be on for an hour. Think we manage 58v of solar on this rainy day.
  5. No it doesn't, it's short for 'bi a fur cote' it's cold!
  6. Now what was that word we learnt about the bridge..... top marks for the first person to remember it! ah... you beat me to it!
  7. Ahhhh so I'm not as ga ga as I thought
  8. Well done for getting us back on line. Your work is appreciated.
  9. I could have sworn I added the response I got from Dog's Trust.... maybe I put it on another thread? Senile moment, probably. The email is mainly a generic one.... but nevertheless, they mention narrowboats:

  11. Yes, there's that problem. Though inside the boat, where their bed, and where their food bowl is, including where their owner lives and sleeps will not change. Wondering if anyone has had a dog that found continuously cruising a problem? When we were looking for our boat, we couldn't get Rusty to jump on a trad style boat; being a big dog, and cautious, he needed more space to land when jumping onboard.
  12. That's a great idea and prompted me to write to Dog's Trust mentioning this forum thread. It would be great if they would confirm and advise. People retiring and living on narrowboats could be a perfect match for many dogs.
  13. It's horrible, and I think the dog for sale section on Preloved should be shut down, though in this instance maybe you could give a dog a good home. On dog forums I belong to, it's known that dogs from Preloved have been picked up and used as bait to train fighting dogs. Take a look.... https://www.preloved.co.uk/classifieds/pets/dogs Edited to say I'm certainly not suggesting the puppies
  14. Was going to suggest a greyhound. I've heard they are very affectionate, plus they don't moult. Living with a very hairy GSD (rescue) on our boat, not moulting appeals. ? Good luck, I do hope you find your new best friend.

  18. Oh it never rains but pours! These things never come at a good time. Good luck, hope all turns out much better.
  19. We passed Mary Ann very, v e r y, slowly about noon, we couldn't see your car, and Mary Ann was battened down ☹️ You've taken the crocheted mushroom covers off - so many questions to ask ? - hugs to both of you x

  22. Cruised under Bridge 6 this morning. Just want to mention there are 8 or 10 pipes (white hard plastic 2 inch drain pipe type) sticking out about 3 to 5 inches from the brickwork along the roof, and sides. It would be easy to catch them, and pick up scratches, both on your boat and on your head! This morning was lovely and bright and they were very visible, but on a dull day, and concentrating on a boat coming towards you or something, you could miss seeing them, and that could be nasty. I'm sure if these were on the roadway, there'd be red flags dangling from them. I can only think the pipes have been added to remove moisture.... (don't take my word for it though). Having mentioned the pipes, I feel lots better now! Ashby bridges are 'snug' at the best of times.
