  1. Salt! You're missing salt. We need sea salt, tonnes of it, that'll increase the buoyancy of the ship.
  2. Somebody mentioned something like that, only they thought about filling the water between the dams with bicarbonate of soda and vinegar..... that normally shifts most things.
  3. Some of the replies to this tweet are hilarious..... thinking out of the box comes to mind.
  4. Heard there's a high tide today! https://www.tide-forecast.com/locations/Suez-Egypt/tides/latest

  6. That's dire ☹️? They're going to need bigger cassettes! They could still be there at Christmas. Got a copy of John's grandad's naval diary which covers around 1890-1900, he mentions liaising with other ships to pick up coal in that part of the world - bit like we do with Rick on fuel boat Auriga I imagine ?. One Christmas while they were going through the Suez Canal and being desperate for provisions, they came across a camel, the poor camel turned into their Christmas dinner ?

  8. 206 ships are now stranded, with worries they could be sitting targets should Iran take advantage. Ships are being told to reverse out of the canal - what a nightmare. Salvage company suggests the vessel should be unloaded to get the ship floating again. How the heck could that be possible? https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/mar/25/suez-canal-blocked-ship-ever-given-stuck Don't know where I read it; the pointy bit that's just been dug out, speared a whale while at sea, causing people to get extremely upset. The design seems to be a disaster. For once, I'm glad I'm not a Lloyds shareholder.

  13. https://www.cityam.com/suez-canal-blocked-with-mega-container-ship/#:~:text=The Suez Canal has been, wide Ever Given cargo ship. Blocked both lanes, it's going to be late docking in Rotterdam!
  14. Mega blockage! "Suez Canal, one of the largest shipping lanes on the planet, blocked with a mega container ship, creating a traffic jam of ships waiting in the Mediterranean, Red Sea, and in the canal itself."

  16. ? Sun's out and the mud's drying up! I live in hope ?
  17. Thanks BEngo! We've got some aluminium foil tape onboard, we'll stick that on when the mould killer has dried. The pic doesn't show it, but there's quite a hollow to fill in with new foam. Perhaps rough up the surface of the foam, for the new foam to get a grip? Thanks for the heads up on the foam expanding and pushing off the lining, I never thought of that ? Cellotex is something to research. You've confirmed my thoughts about the mould, it's always a worry when removing a panel on what's underneath. Thanks for your help David.
  18. In the middle of preparing the bathroom for a repaint. Trimmings have been removed, which has highlighted black mould on wood. The insulation foam has been cut away to lay cables. Has this caused the condensation problem? I know bathrooms are great for mould to grow. Should the gap be filled with expanding plumber's foam? Wondering what other's would do. Thanks for help and advice.

  22. Signed it.... thank you. I've signed so many of these petitions over the years, maybe one day live animals being sold on Gumtree will be banned - we can hope.
  23. Think pets being sold online, such as Gumtree should be banned. I heard from a GSD forum that morons pick up the dogs for using them for baiting in dog fighting. It's terrifying imagining why dog thieves do what they do, I'm pretty sure it's not because they 'love' dogs. Watch out for cable ties https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/local-news/dog-owners-warned-thieves-after-19886257
