    BMC 1.5 glow plugs

I was advised by a friend who happens to be a Marine Engineer and has been for over 20 years so i think he knows a little bit
  2. Not worried about the stove i will install it properly myself at the front of the boat safely i understand the risk factor of being by the doors but as my mom would say they will only touch it once
  3. Thanks for that Smileypete don't really fancy diagonal think i will end up doing vertical t&g as my woodworking skills are VERY basic to say the least the other problem i have is the hull is semi v and the strengthening beams jut out so it should be fun mating the floor to the t&g walling

    BMC 1.5 glow plugs

I thought dual core plugs were better that's what i am getting for my BMC 1500 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DUAL-CORE-DIESEL-HEATER-GLOW-PLUGS-x4-BMC-950cc-1-5-1-8-TEMPEST-THORNYCROFT-BOAT/161236059205?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649
  5. Thanks all for all the input very very much appreciated i have decided to go with 9mm ply and then t&g
  6. I was actually thinking that but i'm only going up to the gunwhale height surely this would be like fitting internal furniture etc as is the same height ?
  7. The whole of my boat is being stripped out this is how i bought the boat last month the fire is going back to the front where it belongs not where the previous owner has unsafely sited it as in the picture I like the sound of that bizzard i am going to look at the said shuttering tomorrow
  8. Hi All, I am at present replacing the rotten thin plywood on the walls on my boat can 18mm shuttering plywood be used i will be covering with T&G so it does not have to look pleasing as will never be seen any advice very much appreciated
  9. I remember him on Keith Floyd and Food and Drink and mopping up tiny maggots with bread off mouldy cheese yummy
  10. Definitely needs dredging under Fazeley Mill bridge and towards kingsbury some crap under that bridge which i hit a few weeks ago i suspect shopping trollies etc and shallow bits just past the boatyard
  11. Lol Sea Dog Cal your right there we never saw another boat all day only moored ones
  12. Thanks again all for the info very much appreciated
  13. Hi All, Just some pics of my new boat i bought yesterday which was moored at Basin Lane on the Trent what an awesome river the Trent is me an my nephew had help from a well experienced old hand we just about made it to Sawley Marina but lost the light can't wait for the next leg of the journey
  14. All very interesting thanks again i have found out that these boats had a steel thickness of 6/6/6mm is this good or bad as the hull survey as of 2013 shows a lowest reading of 4.5mm on base plate the boat was built in 1980 so has lost only 1.5mm in nearly 37 years .
  15. I think so but can't find any info on them? Thank you all for the information very much appreciated the thing is the boat i have bought has a plaque saying Dobson but index number shows built by Hancock and Lane?
  16. Hi All, Has anyone got any knowledge of this boat builder? is it part of Hancock and Lane? any info very much appreciated
  17. An update on the fridge after many emails to this company explaining that there fridge does NOT run on 12volt as per advertised i would like a full refund as it is not fit for purpose and getting false promises. I contacted Ebay who authorised the refund it cost me £30 to return this piece of junk and the company refused to reimburse me this so you have been WARNED stay clear of this company they selling faulty unfit for purpose goods i cannot leave a negative feedback as the item has magically disappeared
  18. Thank you for all the replies very much appreciated the good news is the seller has told me to return the fridge for a full refund just need to find a 12volt fridge that actually works on 12volts now or do i go the cool box route ????
  19. You think ebay would flag a warning against this company or something for unsuspecting buyers???
  20. Thanks for the quick reply i didn't want to hear this as i suspected as much i have also been in contact with the seller and explained the situation there answer was try it on 240volt i said i do not have 240volt supply and specifically bought it as it was a three way fridge needless to say they have gone quite now so i think it will be an ebay issue to sort it
  21. Hi All, I have just purchased one of these three way fridges specifically to run it on a 12volt supply i have mounted the fridge in a cupboard with plenty of vents but it seems to do nothing and seems warmer inside the fridge the the outside temperature has anyone got any experience with this fridge any advice much appreciated http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CARAVAN-FRIDGE-3-WAY-ABSORPTION-GAS-12V-AND-240V-40-LITRE-NEW-BY-GLACIER/332346220252?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D45564%26meid%3D4d9825ec6c6449a0b5cbf15e671ba8c3%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D332309387332&_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850
