  1. Met a good one today on Bosley locks, Had a word at the top and warned me about a couple of low pounds, then he walked down, had a quick word and said he was going to check the pound again and would open up for me on his way down. That is really useful rather than standing beside me or Diana at the same lock.
  2. They are if you don't have a lathe
  3. Did you see @Arthur Marshall while you were there
  4. I changed mine out for a longer one so I could stand in the hatches to steer
  5. Measure from the shoulder to the centre of the hole, measure from the end of the tube, subtract a mm or two and drill a hole. Slide tube of the stub and then drillthrough the hole in the tube and the hole in the stub so you can then drill the hole through the bottom of the tube.
  6. I think he has lost interest, not been back since February
  7. I don't expect that will become common until all boats are electrically powered and charging points are widely available
  8. Has the water tap gone now, it was the only operational bit last time I was there
  9. That is very noticeable if you moor between Anderton and Dutton Lock when they have an outing.
  10. And is there sufficient energy to run a heating system in a Narrowboat or only 3Kw ish?
  11. Do the cabin sides of a Narrowboat get any wetter than a car that is not kept in a garage?
  12. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  13. Remember them well, always seemed a strange combination as the butty looked like a motor with a butty stern
  14. I have just had an idea, 2¼" to fit on a 38mm spigot. Put a piece of 38mm hose on the spigot then ram it inside the steel pipe . Maybe that is how it was fitted
  15. You may find a few inches of flexible 40mm pipe on the spigot from the brass fitting to the steel pipe. Undo the 4 srews in the fitting and see what happens
  16. About the same if you go marina hopping on the canals except you will pay fore washing machines and electricity
  17. Bugger, I didn't consider that
  18. Sandpaper. the opposite of welded washers
  19. Saw this today on the Peak Forest canal done by Stow Hill a few years back originally called Anne
  20. You really shouldn't have posted that, its a long time until Christmas to be on my best behaviour 😁
  21. The problem is the market is not big (lucrative) enough to make it worth while spending the money getting it testing and approved.
