  1. Good move, I know one yard where they moved the engine round when owners came to look. Now long gone I might add.
  2. I ate there a few weeks back and the food was very good. I only had a pint of mild, but it was served to cold for my liking
  3. Following the death in Harecastle tunnel they were supposed to have communication through there but as I recall it failed to work, they installed aerials each end just inside the tunnel I assume as repeaters for mobile phone signal.
  4. I just looked at Gt Yarmouth and dont see any mention of the new bridge, only the Haven bridge
  5. If I was heading to the broads from the canals I would go the other way and out of the Thames, there are lots of places to hide between there and Yarmouth, you could just go in at Lowestoft. Go out of the Wash and its a long non stop run to Yarmouth unless you run up on the beach somewhere. Here is half the trip TNC On Tour 2003 Thames Estuary (tuesdaynightclub.co.uk) maybe you should read all the site to see what can be done in a standard Narrowboat
  6. OK I will spell it out, I am not aware of the latest situation with boats moored along the banks of Ducks Cut. The last time I went that way there was still room for more
  7. Its OK it wont fit through Isis Lock or Dukes Lock onto the canal. I think if he needs to stay in the Oxford area then a mooring will be required unless they doss down Ducks Cut
  8. From Facebook a boater who does a bit of extreme boating
  9. Another thought is if you could get some back to back shared ownership shares or even different boats, you would cover a bigger area. Narrowboat shares currently available (boatshare4u.co.uk) The first entry isn't built yet so you could possibly pick what you want
  10. I just knew you would post that. All this about RCD on self fit outs
  11. I have known one to get a ticket I have known one to get a ticket
  12. Unless you could form a syndicate with friends and all share it as co owners
  13. Hear endith the story of Peters new boat
  14. I wonder what one would cost as a retro fit. I did consider it a few years back when Dan was talking about them, to late for me now, I will just go with what I have. Its hard enough getting someone to do a decent job of changing the bottom cup bearing
  15. I could only find it for ceramic, Halogen and induction hobs, a glass cleaner
  16. Not mine, I did watch a chap make a nice job of his non slip roof with one on the Ashby canal one day, dangling the end down in the cut but you are trying to drag it up over 6ft. Maybe he primed it all first, I don't know.
