  1. Thanks, just checked and mine also was set to auto renew, changed now.
  2. Thanks for replies, I think it's going to be the full lift out that I get. Just rang Channel Glaze and they can't make and deliver 'till May at the earliest, so looks like Caldwells will get the order. Kevin
  3. They are from Channel Glaze http://www.channelglaze.com/windows/double-glazed/bottom-hoppers/ Hope they have what you want Kevin Thanks, I'll give them a call tomorrow. Kevin
  4. Looking at new windows, I like the standard hopper design, but also like the idea of the full bottom opening such as the one shown. However, I can only find them with an arched top. Does anyone know if they are available with a straight top as opposed to the arched one shown here? I've looked at Wesley Marine, Caldwells, Seaglaze and Houdini and can't find what I'm looking for. Thanks Kevin

Kevin
  6. Yep, mine is free standing, not fixed to anything, and being a single handed boater, I also on occasions complete some quite hefty bumps!! As others have said, stand it wherever you want and twist the bowl so it is in a good position to use. 7. Halcyon has a very small shower room, the Thetford is often twisted and moved for filling up and emptying, it's very easy to do. That is assuming you're not concerned about having it fitted. You need access to the back of the toilet to remove the cassette for emptying, but also to fill the top tank. Kevin
  8. I have the Thetford C200 https://www.thetford-europe.com/product/c200/ It's completely free standing with no wires and no connection to water. It is slightly higher than many and may be just the right height for you. I don't live aboard, so mine gets emptied after about 5 days on board, that could be 3 weeks at the moment. It doesn't smell, so no need for a fan. You fill the top tank with about 10L of water and bowl cleaner, and the bottom with something like Elsan blue to break up the waste and away you go. Kevin
  9. Mine's just after the pump, but only because that was the only place to retro-fit it.
  10. I first came across the plastic about 20 years ago when on a teaching course run by the 'Technology enhancement programme' or 'TEP'. They introduced it as a new 'smart' material and called it 'polymorph'. We were given a pack each and told to go away and try to find uses for it. We mostly used it for quick 3D modelling.
  11. Well done Ray, you're spot on, I was way out!! Kevin
  12. I think it's on the Leeds - Liverpool, but not sure where. Thanks Kevin
  13. Right, let's see if this explains it as I can't find an image. Take the waste out of your first bowl and through the skin fitting. At some point (midway?) insert a T junction, making sure the T part is facing upwards. Connect the second sink to this T piece making sure it comes from above. If you can, get hold of 'The narrowboat builders book' by Graham Booth. Kevin

  15. Used the chippy in August, threw most of it away!! They advertise that it's the best chippy in town, wouldn't call Keadby a town, but as it is the only chippy in Keadby, it has to be the best!!

  17. A very well done Marc, now enjoy your family Christmas. Are you walking home for the New Year :-) Kevin
  18. Sports personality of the year has finally gone to an excellent sports person who also has got some personality. My opinion, it's thoroughly deserved. Kevin
  19. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIwGfFVBK1w This is a time-lapse of my trip earlier this year from West Stockwith to Keadby. I rang the lockie at Keadby as I passed under Gunness bridge to make sure the lock was set and ready for me, the number is 07733 124611. I've stayed at Keadby a few times without incident, mostly just dog walkers that you'll see. Listen to the advice given by the lockie at Cromwell, if you happen to stop at Torksey, there's safe moorings just off the river without needing to go through the lock. I've done Keadby to Cromwell in a single hop once, left Keadby at 8-30, arrived Cromwell at 5-30. My faithfull Perkins 4108 was set at 1500 revs for the entire trip. It's about 42 miles. Kevin

  22. Shoot!! I'll go up the Trent and wait to take them down to Keadby :-) Kevin
  23. For getting to Newcastle, have you considered Doncaster or Leeds? Both have direct rail links, and the journey is about 1hr 30 minutes. The journey by car would be about 2 hours. They are both also in areas where you could make some round tip cruises, Ripon however is at the end of the line, so your cruising would be very limited. Also, no train station at Ripon, nearest would be Thirsk which is 12 miles away. I'm planning to go to Ripon at Easter setting off from Thorne on the Stainford and Keadby canal. If you do the route suggested by 'TheDuker' you will pass through Thorne. You're welcome to buddy up for the last 4 days, if you decide to carry on to Ripon. If the time fits, I don't mind also going down to Cromwell and waiting for you there so you have a second boat on the bit of the Trent which is tidal. Kevin
