  7. I'm sure the diesel gauge works differently - sorry can't remember how it fitted Geoff
  8. The Company Dor is on about is MSC Products 0121 354 5552 77 Braemar Road Sutton Coldfield B73 6LZ I bought one of their water gauges, very good and easy to fit, just need to break into the pipe from the tank and get 12volts from somewhere, although with the water tank, the outlet has to be above the sensor in order to get an accurate reading. Give them a ring and ask for an information leaflet. (Im sure they do Diesel gauges as well) Geoff
  9. If you do your shopping at Tesco's did you know their "Clubcard" vouchers can be used towards narrowboat holidays via the www.drifters.co.uk/ website. Bonus is they are worth 4 times the face value. If you're not too impatient save up for a year or so, we had 2 holidays with over £500 off each. Anyone know any Hull Blackers that accept them ???? !! Geoff

  12. Had exactly the same with my SR2, fine until it had been working for a bit then cut out when pulled back to idle. Notched up the idle speed just a fraction and problem solved Geoff
  13. Just found this site - all about the series including links to the suppliers used http://www.i2itelevision.com/narrowboat/ Geoff

  15. Pub at the top of Hatton is The Waterman. I agree the North Stratford is the more scenic route, but would put at least another 25 locks and a few miles into the journey. 15 locks or so to Salford Jc via Grand Union about 40 via Kings Norton Geoff
  16. Adam Have been up and down Hatton a few times. With the wind behind you, a willing crew and the majority of the locks set the right way (!) you can do them in just over 2 1/2 hours. (Our experience). Don't forget there are another couple of locks at The Cape Personally would not go past Catherine de Barnes, set off early (before the little angels get up) and you should have a clear run. Sorry can't remember definitely if there are safe moorings at Camp Hill but I don't think so Geoff

  18. Alan We just bought a high gain aerial from B&Q, and mounted it on a stainless steel tube about 4 ft high. Reception has never been so good. Pity about the programmes ! Geoff

  22. Works fine with Netscape Geoff
  23. Brian You may remember last when you posted about the oil drain and I sent you a PM as I am moored at Knowle and have a similar setup. I never heard back from you. I also had the same problem but a bigger pulley, a 70 amp alternator and a Sterling battery management system (+2 110 amp leisure batts) increased power no end. I managed to get a larger pulley put on the front of the crank (just) and a sort of "Fred Carno" mounting for the alternator, looks odd but it works. As the offer was there before - if you want a look your welcome Geoff
  24. We managed it a couple of years ago. Didn't get the Black Prince boat before 2pm, threw eveything on ( to be sorted en route) and told one of the staff which way we were going. He was very good and got us away before 3 and got through the tunnel OK Geoff
