  1. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I first replaced the complete thermostat unit but unfortunately it made no difference. I was finally given the name of “Inlander Low Voltage Refridgeration” in Birmingham and am taking it into them on Monday. The engineer believes he can sort it. Any other replacement fridge wouldn’t fit the hole and I really don’t want to have to reconfigure the galley so my fingers are crossed !!
  2. A lot will depend on the hole it came out of and whether a standard domestic fridge with a freezer compartment would fit. Looks like I will have to drag it out and take a look
  3. Thankyou all, Im fast coming to the conclusion that a replacement fridge is the only positive way forward
  4. Ok both, thanks for trying. I might try caravan & RV people next in case they have anyone in mind
  5. Yes I already replaced the thrmostat with a completely new unit but the problem remains hence looking for someone to re-gas the refrigerant
  6. Yes Im searching the classified but just thought there may be a knowledgable guy out there that could put it right in a jiffy.I live in hope !!
  7. Rightly or wrongly I was informed that although its to be discontinued R134A is still available and is used in the unit. 600A is the new one but apparently there can be fire issues with this one and thats why the marine industry prefer to use the existing product
  8. The Waeco fridge freezer was installed when the boat was new 6 years ago and has worked perfectly up until now. I wondered if it was something to do with the age of the 5 x 110amp leisure batteries but have been advised that if the fridge is still not working when hooked up to the shoreline I should discount this theory. Having also changed the full thermostat unit that just seems to leave the refrigerent that needs re-gassing. Whenever I ring anyone there is a sharp intake of breath as soon as they realise its for a boat although those "in the know" seem to be saying that its no different to regals that any other domestic fridge freezer. I can now appreciate the hoops you had to jump through but want to explore all avenues until I finally give in
  9. I have the same problem with a Waeco CR110 under counter fridge freezer. The compressor constantly runs but the fridge isnt cooling. I replaced the thermostat unit but this hasnt made any difference so am led to believe it is the refrigerant that needs recharging. Research tells me it is R134A thats needed but am having a devils own job to find an engineer to refill it. The boat is in Staffordshire and Im in Cheshire. If anyone has a tame engineer that can help me out please let me know.
  10. I contacted RCR this morning and have just this reply. It reads: "Due to the IOS update change that Apple have done it has resulted in developers having to overhaul all their current apps. Once we have a replacement fully in place and Apple approved we will be looking to update all apps. Due to the required checks we do not have a release date at the moment." Lets hope it doesnt take them too long Cheers, and lets hope for a good cruising season
  11. After finding I had the exact same issue on my ipad, a quick Google brought me to your post. Like you l also hope they find a fix for Apple devices before the start of next season. I had 2 of the original versions. The user interface is just what I wanted and subsequently purchased 5 regions (although the later versions are from WaterNav). When I click on the icon I just get a notification saying "This App is no longer available in the App Store" and won't open which is strange. Yes, I also have a much dog-eared selection of Nicholsons guides but I much prefer using a combination of "Canalplan" for route planning and WaterNav for local information whilst cruising. These have become my preferred method of finding my way about the system in recent years. If needs must then I could always use "Open Canal Map" that I check for stoppages and gps etc. but I still like the WaterNav Interface. Please post again should you find a solution
